DH has been on Lisinopril for about a month for high blood pressure.

Has anyone else experienced digestive system "difficulties" while taking this? :confused3

My Mom was taken off of Lisinopril due to difficulties with swallowing. Hope he's feeling better soon.

I was on that for over a year. I switched to diovan because of the cough that is prevalent with that type of medication.

I don't remember digestive problems.

WHat kind of difficulties do you mean? I have been on this for about 7 or 8 years and it has worked well for my blood pressure. A few years ago (maybe 4 or 5?) I began to have indigestion - I would keep Maalox handy. Then, last year I began to take an OTC remedy daily - like Pepcid AC or something. It has never occurred to me that it could be a reaction to the Lisonopril, I just thought I was middle aged and overweight, and my mom has acid reflux, so I thought perhaps I was getting that.

My Mom has been on Lisinopril for at least 5 years. She's a good eater (tiny lady though!) She has difficulty swallowing - funny that you bring that up, MagicalMom. We may have to bring that up to her cardiologist.

Hmm, I've been on Lisinopril for about five years. I developed terrible heartburn a few years ago and went on Aciphex for it (hehe, say Aciphex out loud). I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Curious.

I take it, among other meds, and I do have "digestive problems" but really don't know if it's any of my meds causing it, or that I don't have my gall bladder anymore. I just "deal with it." I've never had coughing, or difficulty swallowing though.

I take 20mgs a day but I had pre-existing digestive problems before I started taking it, so I don't know if it makes my stomach problems worse or not. I take other meds for that.

Wow thats interesting. My husband was put on Lisinopril and had heartburn pretty bad as well as stomach upset. He was switched to Diovan and has had no problems since.

He has sudden, frequent urges to get to the bathroom in a hurry. I guess sort of an IBS type thing. I read on a website that Lisinopril can cause these types of side effects, so maybe he needs to get on a different drug.
