Me: Worrying where I can hide Christmas shopping from kids
DH: Worrying about amount of Christmas shopping I am doing
DD: Borrowing my mobile far too much for my liking
DS: Still watching him carefully for any signs of impulsive activity
Monday 18th December - MGM
DS & I are up bright and early again. We are early risers at home so find it hard to lie in. I read our complementary Orlando Sentinel which has very useful 5 day weather forecast (still looking very good) Quick breakfast (wonder if we will tire of muffins and pastries by day 18?) then short drive to MGM
Arrive just as park opens so have a short wait before we are allowed all way down Hollywood Boulevard to shouts of Lights Cameras Action. We head straight to ToT and walk straight on. I didnt enjoy it much as we seemed to be thrown up more than dropped down. Get fastpasses for later and continue on to RnR Rollercoaster. I sit this out as still feel bit queasy from ToT. The queue was longer than expected so very nearly time for FP for TOT again so had a quick look at shops then back to ToT (much better this time got in different elevator)
Did Great Movie Ride (Cowboy version) cheesy as ever but we just have to do it. Then round to have piccies taken with Sorcerer Mickey. We all ride Star Tours which sends DH a very strange shade of green (dont know why but he just cant hack simulator rides) he says he was only seconds from throwing up. DS spends ages in the Star Wars shop with all the other anoracks drooling over the merchandise. Takes me a good half an hour to convince him that we may struggle to get a full size double ended Darth Maul lightsabre home in the end we settle on DD buying him a Yoda My finger pull T-shirt (much easier to fit into a standard suitcase)
We try to get into Indiana Jones stunt show but is standing room only. As we have seen it several times before we decide to leave it and head down Sunset Boulevard for a lunch of burgers and hot dogs in the sunshine.
We head over to Lights Motors Action but the queue is vast and just as we join cast members announce a delay of at least half an hour due to technical problems. DS still smarting from not being allowed to buy a 6ft lightsabre throws a full blown strop. He soon calms down when I threaten to send him on next plane to his nans and as punishment I make him sit through Voyage of the Little Mermaid before we watch the afternoon parade
The crowds have built up again and we are all feeling a little tired so we decide to leave and stop off at Publix to stock up on a few goodies on the way back. Spend ages strolling round the aisles and marvelling at the size of frozen turkeys (you wouldnt get on in a standard English oven) and ice cream tubs like buckets!
Refreshed after a short rest in the hotel we have another stroll around Premium Outlets where I buy DD a purse & bag from Guess & DH gets some Converse retro trainers and then we hop over the road to the Outback for a lovely dinner of Bloomin Onion and steaks all round $74
