Sorry we didn't get to meet you Cindy! It took almost an hour for the police to show up because they got stuck in traffic too, and the beat cops wouldn't take down the accident report, we had to wait for a car.
Really really nice cops though. He ticketed and blamed the other guy for the accident.
It was kind of comical in a way. The guy hit us, the cabbie next to us was even like, I can't believe he actually hit you! And the guy walking across the street didn't even break stride as he was cussing out the guy that hit us. It was really funny.
We know for sure that if traffic hadn't been bad, he would have taken off. He acted like he didn't know he drove into us. MORON!!
Thankfully there is not to much damage to the car. The front bumper will need to be replaced as well as one wheel. Scrubbed the heck out of both, but it sounded like he had ripped the bumper off and broke the headlight, none of which were bad. There was more damage to his car than mine, serves him right for turning right from the left lane!!

I spent the day in the emergency room for my foot. I really did myself in with walking around the city. I'm now on crutches.

really hot and muggy yesterday and today, so we are hanging out at hotel for the last couple hours before getting picked up to head for JFK!

Cindy - so sorry to hear your foot got worse after we saw you! Yikes! Hearing your accent was great - reminded me of my family and friends from where I grew up!!! I hope your friend had a fun day too.
Buffy - sorry we missed seeing you and the clan, but glad no one was injured and you didn't let the crash ruin your NYC trip.
Lisa - have a safe trip back and it was terrific to meet you and your lovely daughter. We'll have to prowl around another Disney store together some time - maybe one of the "real" ones at WDW?

The heat and walking did take a lot out of us, too - the only good parts about our long bus ride home were the comfy seats and blasting AC!

we are home!!

got to bed a bit after 11pm...megan's still asleep!

getting caught up here on the DIS
then lots of laundry and unpacking to do YUCK!

happy to be home, its nice a cool, cloudy and gray, just what we need after the heat in the city the last couple of days!
