Can i carry on bottles of liquid prescription antibiotics? My DD has became sick with a sinus infection & we fly out friday. It has to stay cold so i prefer to carry it on. Just want to make sure they don't end up taking it away & her become worse while we are gone.

I fly United every year with 3 children and I almost always have a bag with some kind of liquid medicine with no issue. Allergies, colds, coughs, etc. I always have something.

I accidentally posted twice cause of a delay on my cell phone.

Agree with the post above that it does not matter what airline you fly as it is a TSA rule and you should have it out when going through security. I am usually able to comply with fitting it in a quart size bag.

Prescription and OTC liquid medications are exempt from the 3-1-1 rules and can be taken through security in containers larger than 3.4 oz. Put it in a zip lock bag in case of leaks, let the screener know you have the meds in your bag and do what they say to do with it.

I travel with liquid meds all the time. All they want us to do is take it out of the carry on bag, put the ziplock with the meds in a bin with your other things, and send it through the scanner belt. Maybe 1 in 20 times they will pull you over to a table to pass a wand over the med bottle, I believe that is simply a random thing. If you forget to put the ziplock with the liquid in a bin, and leave it in a bag, you subject yourself to the full luggage search. Been there done that.

Just make sure the prescription label is on the bottle, and put it in a separate ziplock bag with the label facing up in the bin. I've never had a problem.
