What size of liquid can be carried on board. My doctor recomended some sudafed or benedryl for my 3 yr old because of his terrible ears. he thought it may make the flight more bearable. Can I take a bottle through security. I think they are in 4 oz bottles though?

Medicine is exempt from TSA restrictions on size.

Declare larger liquids. Medications, baby formula and food, and breast milk are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding three ounces and are not required to be in the zip-top bag. Declare these items for inspection at the checkpoint.

The pp's link to the tsa is a terrific resource for all things airline travel related.

As noted medicine is exempt from the restrictions on liquids but everyting else should be 3.4 oz or less and in the 1 quart ziplock bag.

I will say that though benadry comes in the single dose package, they are are very convenient and less than 3 oz :)

In addition to that my kids have success with anything you have to chew and swallow, so tootsie pops, gummy candy and their favorite was starbursts. Something they weren't allowed to have at home and helped the ears. Also if he/she still uses a sippy cup bring one that is a bit difficult to sip through and fill with a favorite juice. This will help LOTS to releive ear pressure.
