Does anyone have a recipe or suggestion for a pumpkin bundt cake with liqueur? My mom and I are really into making the cake mix/pudding/liqueur bundt cakes, and I have a not-so-small pumpkin obsession. :teeth: I just made a pumpkin chocolate chip bundt, and it seems a little dense (haven't tasted it yet though). I'd like to do a yellow cake/vanilla pudding/ pumpkin cake with some sort of liqueur. I was thinking of rum, or Bailey's. Maybe I can make it a wine cake with cream sherry? I suppose I'll just have to experiment, but I thought I'd ask.

thanks!

hmm, never thought about that b/c I don't really like it (or almond extract for that matter), but that's a very good idea that I might have to try! :)

thanks!

I'd be really careful giving liquor to pumpkins. One of the neighborhood kids got my Jack-O-Lantern drunk on Halloween and this is what happened.

Yeah it was pretty messy out on the front step the next morning. And talk about a hangover, this pumpkin was never the same. A couple of days later it started sprouting mold and its head caved in. I think if I were you I would play it safe and just give a coconut milk.

Brandy! I have an amazing brandied pumpkin cheesecake recipe and the brandy is just so nice in there!
Let us know what you come up with.

oh dear... LOL

anyhoo, apparently I'm not looking hard enough:

I suppose Kahlua is an obvious choice. However, my experiment is going to use yellow cake, vanilla pudding, no dream whip, and it's going to be a bundt...

will let you all know how it goes!

Ok, so I experimented this weekend, and although I thought it was sensory overload, the scavengers here at work loved it.

Anyway, here's what NOT to do:

vanilla cake
instant butterscotch pudding
1 c. pumpkin
2 t. cinnamon
1 t. ground ginger
1 t. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. kahlua

I think next time, if I do kahlua again, I will use vanilla pudding and only cinnamon. I will cut back the kahlua to 1/4 c., and maybe add 1/4 c. vodka (like a black russian cake).

If anyone else has another experiment, please post! :)

Ok, here is an experiment I always wanted to try. Get 4 packages of Cherry Pop Rocks candy (Grape will work if you can't find Cherry) and a 16 ounce bottle of Sprite. Open all the Pop Rocks and place them in a glass. Pour all of the Pop Rocks into your mouth then chug the entire bottle of Sprite and shake your head from left to right really fast for 10 seconds and swallow. My theory is that Cherry Sprite will come out your nose (unless your head explodes). Please report back your findings.

Well she did ask for it. And people thought I was the interesting one. At least I am not out trying to get pumpkins drunk and making cherry Sprite come out of my nose.
