Hello does anyone know if you can buy rum at the Hess Station at Downtown Disney? I know that you can get wine and beer from Garden Grocer but one of my brother wishes to buy rum for while we are there and we will not have access to a car.

I wonder if you can have the resort get it for you? Might be a little costly. But saves time.

Can't you just pack the alcohol in your checked luggage? That would be cheaper and easier. :goodvibes

We are coming from Canada, so we would prefer not to pack it in our luggage.

This is something I have been researching over this week and finally got a pretty decent answer.

Garden Grocer will only deliver "soft" liquor such as beer and wine. Private dining at your resort will get it for you, but only if it is something that they can get through the distributor....no special liquor and it is very difficult to get in touch with some one there who will handle this request. I could pack it in my luggage in a lot of bubble wrap so there is no breakage, but lets be honest some people toss luggage around like Olympians at a discus throw and that could cause breakage. Eau de Bacardi is probably not your chosen fragrance for the vacation.:joker:

I went with We Go Shop and they are lovely. I spoke to Amy and she informed me that they can get hard liquor, it will cost me an additional $5, they will meet me outside the resort to show I'd and settle up. No muss no fuss! Placed my order a few hours ago. pixiedust:

Great info, thanks! My dad was asking about getting a small bottle of brandy when we are in DW in November, and I was at a loss to figure out where without a car. How did the prices for liquor compare with regular stores? I assume it's going to be more expensive, but just curious how much more.

Garden Grocer will deliver liquor too. They just don't list it on their list of items. You have to put it in the special notes section and then they will call you to verify your age. At least this is how it was up until 2011 the last time I did it!! :D HTH's!

Are you sure about that with Garden Grocer, they seem to have beer and wine listed ok their website but that is it.

Email info@gardengrocer.com and ask. If you are there during food and wine then the festival centre was selling wines and spirits (vodka, gin, rum etc) and they had a very good selection.
The resort shops were selling small bottles of spirits like vodka etc as well. Not sure where you are staying though.

I have gotten liquor through Garden Grocer, too. I faxed over proof of my age prior to our trip, so I didn't have to be at the resort when they delivered.

It is not listed anywhere on their site. You have to put what you want in the Special Notes section of your order.

I recall seeing bottles (750ml) of Capt. Morgan's rum in the on-property resort gift shops. No clue about pricing.

Ok, update. I just live chatted with Garden Grocer. They no longer carry hard liquor. :( Sorry for the misinfo! Now I'm waiting here for answers too because that was my plan in 45 days!

There is rum and vodka makers that use plastic bottles now. I buy those and put them in a big ziplock in checked bag.

Ditto this. Captain Morgan's spiced rum, but that was the only rum option and I've no idea about price. Pretty safe to say, "More than in your home liquor store," but if there's a pattern to how much Disney kicks up the price I haven't figured it out.

Yeah I just had an email back from Garden Grocer and they said that they are not able to deliver it due to Florida laws. Does anyone know if there is a liquor store close to Downtown Disney that would only be a short trip on a Lynx bus? I live in a larger city and do no mind using public transit at all.

Prices for alcohol is what they would charge if you or I walked in and bough it. There is the $5 fee for having to go to an additional store and there is a service fee depending on the costed your order
