Okay... so as you can see by my post count, I am very new at the DISboards. But over the past few weeks, I've lost many work hours to reading trip reports, reading pre-trip reports, and thought it would be fun to start my own pre-trip report. Hopefully someone will follow along, otherwise, I'll just chat with myself, which I find myself doing often. :scared: I'm just hoping that this helps me pass the time so I don't sit here thinking when is Disney finally getting here?!? Maybe it will give someone a laugh or two. First, a few apologies as I have a hard time remembering the names of certain things. So if I mention the thing at that thingy, please be patient until the thingy's name comes to me :headache: and I can fill in the blank. Usually if I can't remember something, I'll try to put a (?) there so there's never a question that I have no clue what I'm talking about.

I guess I'll start with the where, what, and when -
When: Saturday Sept. 6 - Sunday 14th
What: Disney (mostly), Disney Cruise, & ????
Where: Pop Resort Sept. 6 - 11th / Disney Cruise Sept. 11 - 14th

Cast of Big Kids / Characters -
Myself - Krista - 33yo
Sister - Kimmie - will be 35 when we go
Mom - 60's
Dad - 60's
Cats - Capone & Rocky who, unfortunately, will be staying home otherwise Mickey and Minnie might have to hide during the trip

Now, let's see if I can figure out this picture thing on my first go-round...

One of my favorite pictures of my sister. She loves Minnie. I thought this was cute, from 2007

Capone (left) and Rocky (right) - you can't really tell from the pic, but Capone is a lot thinner than Rocky. They're so cute, they're my babies.
(will have to figure out how to add later >^^< >^^<)

The background -
My sister and I took mom and dad to "Orlando" for a family vacation in Sept. of 2005. It was great. We got the free dining. We stayed at POR. My parents got to golf for a few days. Everything was rush rush rush. We barely had any time to stand still for a minute, just the way I like it. Last year my sister and I went on a 7-night Disney Cruise, which I must say, had to have been one of the best vacations I've ever taken, partially because it was Disney, but mostly because of the people we had dinner with, met, hung out with, etc. So this year we were thinking of doing another non-Disney cruise (as unfortunately - they are less expensive than Disney). Our dad retired earlier this year, so we thought, why don't we ask them if they want to go? Before we asked them, we were going back and forth between doing another cruise, or doing another "Orlando" vacation. We decided on the cruise as that would be something different for our parents, as they have never cruised before. They said sure, so we started looking at pricing and itineraries. Anyway, long story short, we decided on doing Disney and a Disney 3-night cruise - as long as - in the words of my mom - we took it eassssssssssy this trip. I guess my idea of going easy is telling them what I plan on doing, and letting them figure out to stay or go. Just as long as I get to ride all my rides and stuff, I'll be an almost happy camper.

So the 4 of us are headed down to MCO on September 6th and return to BOS on September 14th, hopefully still speaking to each other, hopefully not too warn out, and hopefully with a few good souvenirs.

More to come...

Only a few plans are almost set in stone.

Sat. / Sept. 6 - we fly JetBlue from BOS to MCO and get in around 4:30ish. Not the way I wanted to do it. We usually fly early in the morning and get into Orlando around 11am or 12ish. That way we can go through the airport stuff, get a rental, go to eat, go to the hotel, check in, and spend the late afternoon / night at the Magic Kingdom. Now getting in around 4:30ish, we probably won't get our rental until 5ish, and get to Pop until 5:30pm-6pm. We have an 8:00pm ADR at Raglan Road that night for dinner. My sister and I might hang around Pleasure Island while the parents head back to Pop. We don't have park tickets for this day.

Sun. - The plan is to go to AK in the morning and go to MK in the evening. The way we've done our Disney trips in the past have been to start off at MK as nothing beats walking down Main Street and seeing the castle to kick off the magic, but we decided AK would work better as a morning thing. This will probably be our only stop at the AK, however, we do have an "extra" day where we can finish up whatever we want.

Mon. - The plans are to go to Epcot in the morning and do the Studio whatever the new name is in the evening. We have an 11:35am ADR at Le Cellier Steakhouse for lunch and a 6:20pm ADR at Mama Melrose.

Tues. - This day is questionable. We are definitely going to try and get tickets for MNSSHP at the MK tonight. My parents want to go golfing one day, so we figure that if they go today, my sis and I might go to US / IoA. But then, my dad is on the fence about going to US / IoA as he really liked some of the rides over there, so we might all to there today or on Wed., and they will golf the other day while we finish Disney things and outlet shopping. We have to find some shopping time before we go on our cruise. I'm still trying to figure out how this is going to be a "relaxing" trip for my mom when she wants to go to the parks, eat out a bunch, and golf.

To be continued...

Hopefully I can get it right this time...

Okay, so where was I?

Wed. Sept. 10th we have a 7:45am ADR at Chef Mickey's. My sister is really excited about going here for breakfast. I am too. This is another of our "what to do" days. Once we figure out what we're doing Tuesday, this day should be all figured out. I need to find out from my mom what day she wants to golf - so we can figure out the rest of our plans. We have one more TS ADR to play around with.

Wednesday night will be our last night on DISNEY WORLD "resort" property. I assume we'll get up in the morning, have a quick bite to eat at the Pop place where one goes to get a quick bite to eat, and wander around the resort before it's time to head to our Disney Cruise aboard the Wonder :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We are keeping the rental car since it costs about the same to keep it an entire week w/ the option of a discount for paying up front, vs. returning it on Thursday and taking Disney transportation to the port. This will be my 5th Disney Cruise, my sisters 4th Disney Cruise, and my parents 1st cruise. My first Disney Cruise (1st cruise at that) was a 3-night just after Thanksgiving. All of the holiday decorations were up - it was magical. Yes, I'm a dork, I called something Disney related "magical". :wizard:

Thursday Port Canaveral — 4:00 p.m.
Friday Nassau 9:30 a.m. 7:00 p.m.
Saturday Castaway Cay 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Sunday Port Canaveral 7:35 a.m. —

TBC...
