Okay... so as you can see by my post count, I am very new at the DISboards. But over the past few weeks, I've lost many work hours to reading trip reports, reading pre-trip reports, and thought it would be fun to start my own pre-trip report. Hopefully someone will follow along, otherwise, I'll just chat with myself, which I find myself doing often.
I'm just hoping that this helps me pass the time so I don't sit here thinking when is Disney finally getting here?!? Maybe it will give someone a laugh or two. First, a few apologies as I have a hard time remembering the names of certain things. So if I mention the thing at that thingy, please be patient until the thingy's name comes to me
and I can fill in the blank. Usually if I can't remember something, I'll try to put a (?) there so there's never a question that I have no clue what I'm talking about.
I guess I'll start with the where, what, and when -
When: Saturday Sept. 6 - Sunday 14th
What: Disney (mostly), Disney Cruise, & ????
Where: Pop Resort Sept. 6 - 11th / Disney Cruise Sept. 11 - 14th
Cast of Big Kids / Characters -
Myself - Krista - 33yo
Sister - Kimmie - will be 35 when we go
Mom - 60's
Dad - 60's
Cats - Capone & Rocky who, unfortunately, will be staying home otherwise Mickey and Minnie might have to hide during the trip
Now, let's see if I can figure out this picture thing on my first go-round...
My sister (gray shirt) and I (green shirt + hat) at City Walk 2005
Mom and Dad at City Walk 2005
Mom and Dad at the Sci-Fi 2005
Dad with Alice and Pooh at the 1900 Faire (?) breakfast 2005
My mom behind me in the ride at AK - the one sort of like Aladdin or Dumbo (?) 2005
One of my favorite pictures of my sister. She loves Minnie. I thought this was cute, from 2007
Capone (left) and Rocky (right) - you can't really tell from the pic, but Capone is a lot thinner than Rocky. They're so cute, they're my babies.
(will have to figure out how to add later >^^< >^^<)
The background -
My sister and I took mom and dad to "Orlando" for a family vacation in Sept. of 2005. It was great. We got the free dining. We stayed at POR. My parents got to golf for a few days. Everything was rush rush rush. We barely had any time to stand still for a minute, just the way I like it. Last year my sister and I went on a 7-night Disney Cruise, which I must say, had to have been one of the best vacations I've ever taken, partially because it was Disney, but mostly because of the people we had dinner with, met, hung out with, etc. So this year we were thinking of doing another non-Disney cruise (as unfortunately - they are less expensive than Disney). Our dad retired earlier this year, so we thought, why don't we ask them if they want to go? Before we asked them, we were going back and forth between doing another cruise, or doing another "Orlando" vacation. We decided on the cruise as that would be something different for our parents, as they have never cruised before. They said sure, so we started looking at pricing and itineraries. Anyway, long story short, we decided on doing Disney and a Disney 3-night cruise - as long as - in the words of my mom - we took it eassssssssssy this trip. I guess my idea of going easy is telling them what I plan on doing, and letting them figure out to stay or go. Just as long as I get to ride all my rides and stuff, I'll be an almost happy camper.
So the 4 of us are headed down to MCO on September 6th and return to BOS on September 14th, hopefully still speaking to each other, hopefully not too warn out, and hopefully with a few good souvenirs.
More to come...
