I believe they get released every seven years I'm not sure the last time it was released though?? maybe this site could help?

I'm not sure of the next dvd release but I have to digress a bit.. My DD was 5 when Lion King came out and she watched that video tape (no dvd's then) at least 500 times. For her 21st, I took her to Lion King on Broadway. It surpassed amazing. So if you are ever in NYC don't miss it! We got a deal of buy one ticket get the second for $15 so we could not pass it up.

I wish it would come out soon.
We were in Las Vegas last week and they now have a Broadway Production of Lion King at Mandalay Bay. Alot of the cast had been in the show on Broadway and in the touring company. It was great. I always wanted to see it and did not think I would ever.
My daughter kinda laughed at me. I was in tears at the end. I started thinking - I wonder what Walt is thinking with one of the Disney cartoons made into a production of this magnitude and appearing on the Las Vegas Strip.

Last time it came out I think was when they released lion king 1 1/2 the Timon and Pumba story.

If I recall, the DVD came out in 2003. I remember because my son was in a highchair. He is 6 now. So, if the theory is correct maybe it may come out again next year? I am waiting for Beauty and the Beast to come out. My daughter has been watching it on VHS tape. You take for granted how much easier a DVD player is!

I have read that beauty and the beast will be out in February 2010. I am SO excited!!

Thanks for the info on Beauty and the Beast. I am over the rewinding of the VHS tape! I have gotten lazy! That is my DD's favorite movie. I am glad I bought all of the Disney movies back in high school! They finally came in handy!
