Hi all! I'm planning on taking my DD to NY this May for the weekend. I'm also planning on going to see The Lion King on Broadway and would like some seating suggestions. I'll be ordering our tickets soon, I just need to know where the best seats are for the best price. Thanks!

Any seat is good at least this was true for Chicago. During the opening song the characters come through the audience. Our seats were in the first balcony and we paid 85.00 each. I would pay that again and again!!!!! It is so emotional I think I cried 3 times! My DD9 never moved she was sooooooo into it.

We saw it yesterday!! $100.00 tickets(they were a gift) in the orchestra section. Just watch the back of the orchestra section is under the balcony and you can't see some action in the "box"seats on the walls. Very good play but I have to admit I liked Aida more. All the kids at LK had a great time.

Thanks for the responses! Is there anyone else out there that can tell me what the view was like, maybe on the floor behind the orchestra, or in the back of the balcony? Will we need binocculars? Thanks again.:wave2:

Try for anywhere in the orchestra near the aile. My 3 kids are still so thrilled that the animals walked right by them.

I saw it from all the way up, and it's still good. But I did get the box seat ($100) for my in laws, and they had a blast. The actresses actually sang from her box. They said the views were awesome.

I got the box seats because I live here in NYC, and I can just go and wait in line for a show 6 months in the future, at face value. You'd be surprised, some of these box seats weren't filled till a month ahead. :)

I saw it in London ($100) from about the 10th row back from downstairs. It was fabulous. Then I saw it in Memphis ($40) from one of the upper balconies. It was a totally different experience but I still loved it. I would take binoculars for far away, but I did enjoy seeing the panoramic viewpoint from above.

DH got me tickets for Christmas, we had Mezz row FF ($100 each). The seats were 6 rows back from the railing, left of center, but still a great view. If you can get Mezz AA, they would be great seats. As for Orchestra... I personally wouldn't want the first 5-6 rows. From where we sat we saw the people in the first row, and they had to look up the entire time to see the show.

The show is wonderful, so much to take in. It does deviate a litttle from the movie, but no by much. As a mom whose kids LOVED the movie, and know just about every line, you can pick up what they have changed.

DH & I had a great time. I'm sorry we didn't bring the kids, but at $100 a tickets times the 6 of us, way to much money for us!!

Enjoy the show!!

If you can, try to stay close to the center of the theater. The scenery is beautiful but we were a little too far left to get the full effect. Just my opinion.

You'll have a ball. I must admit that I liked Aida better, too. It's awesome and tickets are much easier to get.

Thank you for all your responses!! I'll let you know what I decided to go with.:teeth: :bounce: I'm sooooooooo excited to see this show, it's hard keeping it a secret from DD! She doesn't even know about the trip, I'm going to surprise her when it gets closer to the actual time. If I tell her now, I'll never get a moments peace!:hyper:
