Have you seen this? Was it good? Also.. what do I wear to something like this... is it like business casual dress?

I saw it in Cincinnati. I don't remember what we wore, but I'm sure we didn't get "dressed up." I suspect you're really interested in what to wear to the show on Broadway, so I can't help you there. I can tell you though, the show is amazing.

It has to be one of the best shows out there. There was 22 of us go when it came to Birmingham a few years back. We would all go back in a heart beat! We had the cheap seats in the nose bleed section. When it was over my mother (who had bought the tickets for eveyone) asked me how much the tickets were down below. I told her, and she said next time we are down there!

My nephew's who were 4 and 5 at the time never sat down. They stood in front of their seats, to sing and dance with the cast. I enjoyed watching them as much as I did the show.

We did the business causal, but there was really all types of clothing worn by people.

Are you going to an evening show or a matinee?
Not that it would make much difference- some dress nicer and others dress regular.

And I've seen some with frayed/worn jeans too. I usually wear slacks and a collared shirt or a sleeveless turtleneck. We were in NYC last weekend, and some of the older theaters don't have wonder ventilation.

I had to send DH to the refreshment stand during intermission to get me something with ice in it so I could cool off. I felt like the ventilation came on for 5 minutes every half hour, and I was definitely wilting.

You shouldn't have any issues at the Minskoff Theater though- it's really a nice one. When do you go?

We loved it. We dress business casual, maybe a little dressier if it is a night performance. Honestly, you will see people in jeans and t-shirts, very dressy and everything in between. Have fun.

It is a wonderful show. You will love it. People dress in such a wide range for Broadway these days. Business casual is probably the most typical, but I see jeans worn all the time when we go. Enjoy!

We went on broadway for a matinee I believe. We wore nice clothes as in somthing that would be ok to wear to work.
ddd
I LOVED the Lion King parade at Disneyland more then anything else I have seen as far as entertainment at Disney. I was really really looking forward to going.
I hated it. FWIW I am not much of a theater person and will never go again to a show. My son also said te same thing. He was probably 11 or 12 when he went and my girls were about 7 and 8. When they talk about going to NYC they never bring up that we saw the play so I don't think it was an important experience for them.

Sorry for the downer post but had to be honest and say we thought it was a bing waste of time and money.

I have been to many broadway plays and it really does not matter what you wear. I have seen people in dresses, jeans, shorts etc...sometimes I go last minute-if we are in teh city doing something else we will wander over to the ticket booth and see what they have for that day/night and buy tickets so whatever I am wearing at the time is what I wear to the show! The lion king is a great play, you will not be dissapointed! My godson really loved the play Cats (not running anymore) when he was little and I think I ended up seeing that stupid play at least 6 times with him! I liked it the first 2 times but after that I think I napped through it!

I've seen people wear everything from shorts and t-shirts to ball gowns and tuxedos.

We saw this show 2 times, once in Indianapolis and again in Des Moines Iowa.

Loved, loved, loved the show.

Going to the theater IS a big deal for our family, we try to go to a nice production 1 time a year. We treat it as a special occasion, and try to dress a "nicer than casual". I try to keep in mind that I will usually freeze at big theaters, so I make sure that I have on something i.e. a twin sweater set so I won't freeze, or can take off the sweater if I am warm.

As far as dress goes, we do keep in mind that if we see a production in a city like Chicago, we will be walking lots, so what we wear needs to be "walking friendly."

Wear what is comfortable for you. Yes...shorts to tuxes is the range.

I've seen the show on Broadway. It's one of the vest I've ever seen!
As far as dress goes it's pretty relaxed but I reccomend doing 'dressy causual' like a nice top and jeans (I'm 17) or maybe a nice skirt and top.

I've seen this on b/way. I've gone to many, many b/way shows. For a maintinee, jeans and a nice top is fine. During the week, people tend to wear what they wore to work that day. Sat night might be just a bit dresser (date night). You could wear nice jeans. If you're going out to a club or resturant after the show, you'd probably feel more comfortable in dress slacks or a dress.
