Hi, hope you don't mind my many questions!

What is DLP like for lion king merchandise? And stitch for that matter?

:)

Hi, from memory there are the various plush toys - Simba, Nala, Pumba, Timon, Rafiki. DS has a Scar T-shirt from DLP but that is an adult size so there may be more characters in child sizes. Again there are Stitch plush as well as pins and usually hoodies too.

Thanks! Sounds like I won't be taking many things with me on my trip. I will need lots of room for souvenirs!

My dd2 is a massive lion king fan & when we were at DLP end nov 2012 she bought the lion king figure set, a rafiki, pumba plush & a simba pillow pet. We also saw simba, nala & timon plush toys. We could not find any pins of any of the lion king characters & we looked in loads of shops

As a Lion King freak, I can tell you that the orange Scar T-shirt hasn't been available since at least June 2012.
At least, I haven't seen it again since then.
There was also a bowl + mug in the same series, but I think I may have gotten one of the last mugs last June, the bowl was also no where to be find again, and the only mug I saw was the one I bought.

I was there again for Halloween and couldn't find any of the 3 items anymore.

(I got all these things myself back in 2010/2011).

Mainly baby clothes.
Baby comforter blanky.
A huge Simba plush, and little plushies from most characters.

Indeed, there hasn't been a Lion King pin released at DLRP since 2010 or so I believe.
(maybe the Soda Fountains, I'm not sure)

There's a Pumbaa boxers (orange) they still might have!
A set of 3 pair of socks.
And (I found these mainly at the Studio's) a yellow Simba cap with a face on it, and a little tail at the back, lol.

I'd show you pictures of the boxers and socks, but I'm not allowed yet to post links / pictures.

They are in the same style as the orange Scar t-shirt though.
It has no outlines, and shows only eyes/nose/mouth.

And like someone mentions, a pillow pet, it's from baby Simba, and not the same pillow pet that's available at the US parks!

They definately had the scar mug in September, We couldn't find a bowl/t shirt etc. There were a few plushes (and as far as I know they are selling off the rafiki plush in the sale atm) but I couldn't see any plushes that were different from the UK disney store stuff.
They also had the simba cap but it's for children (though I still insisted my OH crammed it on his head!)

I have the cap, and I'm 29, and it fits me, lol.

Hmm, that's odd about the shirt, as I didn't see it last June and October.
I must say though, in June, I had only been at the Disney Store in The Village to check, and in October hadn't been in The Village at all, so they could have maybe still got it there?
I checked every store in both parks in October, and couldn't find any Scar merch anymore, as there were some other Lion King people who wanted me to look for them.

It's a shame they don't have much lion king stuff. Seems America gets everything! I'm not going until June, but hopefully they will have some things :) I love stitch too and it sounds that he is more popular!

ETA I'm 22, will be 23 when I go I have just got a simba hat (ears) from Etsy. I wear it out and about. Who cares what people think!

Oh yeah, there is LOADS of Stitch stuff around, and Angel aswell.

It is a shame that some movies aren't really represented that well.
I do remember when I was there in 2004, because of the opening of The Legend of The Lion King, they had heaps of Lion King stuff.

I can post a pic now, here's the boxers, lol.
The socks have the same print.

What Simba hat / ears did you get? :hyper:
I have a Disney Universe Simba hat ^^

Haha, they are awesome! It's a hand made hat, I will get a pic of it later :)
I might have to get an Angel plush to go with my stitch!

That's cool!
Made it yourself?

I found one on ebay, Australians who pre-ordered the Wii or PS3 "Disney Universe" game, could order a Simba or Mike hat with it.
It has a Simba face on top, and ties around your head so your ears/cheeks are covered in fleece.

Nice and warm ^_^

Sounds cute! No, a girl in America made it. I got a sewing machine for Christmas though so eventually hoping to learn how to make hats!

I'm getting a small bit added to my Simba tattoo next weekend :) I've already got the simba drawing (that rafiki did) on my ankle. I'm having the words 'hakuna matata' with giraffe silhouettes under it :)

Ooh, nice!

I would never get a tattoo myself, I'm afraid of needles, hehe :p

Are you an all-time-Lion-King-fan?
I've been since 1994.

I don't particularly like needles and anyone who says a tattoo doesn't hurt is a big liar. It really does and I'm not looking forward to the actual process! My simba only took 15 mins, my one next week will take an hour :simba:

Yes, I've always been a fan. We even had the game on our first computer and my dad and I would spend literally hours trying to complete levels.
It holds many fond memories for me. I saw the musical last year too. Amazing!

I have that game too, on my old Nintendo, haha!
I finished playing it within 30 minutes or so, lol!

Seen the musical twice in London too.
Hoping to go back there for my 30th birthday in October, or the beginning of next year.
Got a few friends in the UK.

I'm not sure if this is all year 'round, or only during the summer, but Rafiki & Timon have a photo point next to the Hakuna Matata restaurant :)

your conversation might be better done by private message Jazzy B and Moorhunhe, its reading more like a conversation than an information thread now :).

Here's some Stitch stuff
