I also read that all Tastefully Simple items are made in the US but couldn't find that info on their website. Hope so as I love their products.

Note that they will label a shoe "Made in USA" even if it is made from 30% foreign materials. So it just goes to show that even things "Made in USA" aren't completely made in the USA.

Do you know if you still have to be careful of items made in the Mariana Islands? I know that used to be a big thing--using sweat shops there and labeling the item as made in the USA (since they are a US Commonwealth). I know the loophole was closed a few years back but I think they have until 2015 to get up to US practices and minimum wages so I don't know if it is still an issue or not.

Personally, I like to buy locally (less shipping and true effect on the economy I an in), smaller shops and higher quality, hopefully from businesses which treat their workers and the environment well. So, for example, I cannot say enough good things about getting a CSA share if it is available where someone lives.
