Linking WDW tickets

I purchased 2 - 10 day non expiration tickets, (one for myself and one for my DH), right before the increased and they arrived yesterday. These tickets are extras to be used in the future after we complete our current tickets. Here's my question, should I link these tickets to "My Disney Experience" site now or wait till I'm ready to use them. I know I worry to much but I want to make sure they are okay and are what I purchased. The only way I can think of to check them, is to link them or have them checked once I arrive at our resort. Our next DVC reservation isn't until December.

If you link them now, you would have to stop at a Guest Relations Location prior to entering a park to have your tickets prioritized so that the old ones are used first.

I was just about to start a thread to ask the same type of question. I already have my 10 Day Non-exp on my bands, but will be using 5 day exp park hopper for this August's trip. I have not linked them to My Disney Experience. What should I do?

Sounds like you'd have to go to GR to prioritize them. You can probably link the 5d park hoppers yourself.

If you bought them from a Disney authorized reseller, you worry too much.

I would wait until you need them to add them to your MDE account, less hassle and chance for mistakes.

We have probably 20 tickets that aren't added to our account yet.

That's like the monetary value of a car! I'd be scared of losing them.

Due to past experience (forgot some previously purchased APs and tickets and scrambling to find the will call numbers), I've linked ALL the tickets I've purchased. In MDE, i have 2 people named Adult AAA & Child BBB. All tickets are linked to one or the other. When I'm ready to use them, I'll reassign them.

We don't use will call, we like the physical tickets and exchange certificates filed in a binder. I have bad dreams about Disney getting hacked or having a major IT outage.

Any extra money went towards pre-buying admission before price increases and before they stopped selling non-expiration tickets.

I really like this idea of adult AAA. I linked a few tickets too but am afraid they will be used in the wrong sequence at the parks. This seems like a good way to avoid the problem. I could reassign them to Adult AAA now and then reassign them back in the future when needed. Anyone see any problems with such a scenario??

The problem I see is that there isn't any benefit adding them to your account ahead of time.

As I posted above, what happens when Disney gets hacked and your account is deleted?

That method should work in the MDE system. Before a ticket is actually used, it can be reassigned to someone else (meaning you can later reassign the tickets to actual persons in the MDE account). Thus, you should not have to go to guest services to designate which tickets you want to use because the only ones that will abe attached to your MB are those which are actually in your name in the MDE account.

If you die and they're assigned to someone that doesn't exist - what response will Disney have? There's no biometric information associated with the ticket yet, but there is a name and it's a name that's neither on your deed nor, if I'm reading "adult AAA" correctly, existing at all (much less in your will.) I'm just wondering what, if any, problems would be encountered if you were to die and whoever receives those tickets did not know to go to *your* MDE account and reassign them to their name before trying to activate them through *their* MDE account.

If I die, my beneficiaries can take over my MDE! They wouldn't have to search around for the plastic ticket vouchers or dig around my emails for the receipts

If they took the vouchers to GR, I assume it would automatically reassign them on MDE. Last year I bought a DVC PAP on my second DVC/MDE account. It linked. I do all our travel stuff on my first MDE/DVC account. Called up IT, they had it fixed in a few minutes.

If Disney's account gets hacked and my info gets deleted, I would still have the physical tickets.

I guess I will have to leave instructions on what to do with my MDE as well as anything DVC in the event of my death. I am the only one who knows what is going on. The rest of the family just packs their bags and comes along for the fun!!!

I just got a set of 10 Day N.E. from UT yesterday. Put them right in the firesafe......AFTER taking a picture of them (that get's auto stored on google's servers) so that if anything happens they can be replaced. There is absolutely no need to add them to your MDE account until it's time use them. The only reason really to add them is for FP+, so if you were going to a park for say F&W for a day and not planning a ride or a FP, you could just use the card.....not the magic band to enter.

Disney has a track history of BAD I.T. Personally I have yet to experience an issue with MDE and magicbands, and we got started during the testing phase with it. I hear many horror stories (and to be honest.....sometimes it really is the user and not the I.T. as I deal with I.T. situations daily and people truly do moronic things) but I'm risking a N.E. ticket day getting used because it prioritized correctly, or a mistake was made. I've paid extra to have those for those weekend trips where we just want 1 day.....and I want them to last for when they are most needed....so no, I'm not putting them on my MDE until I need to use them.

Thanks, I decided I'll hold onto my tickets until I'm ready to use them. We will be finishing up our old tickets in December then I'll add our new tickets to my MDE.
