Linking tickets to resort reservation

I have a resort stay already booked for May. We are buying the tickets separately - not as a package. On WDW website it gives mail delivery options for the tickets. I assumed they would just be loaded into our account - not actual paper tickets. Will I have to wait until they mail them before I can link them to our account? And, when will we be able to make fast passes if we buy them separately from our resort stay? Thanks!

Just choose the "will call" option when purchasing the tickets. Once you've completed the transaction, you will immediately get a confirmation code that you can link in MDE. You will be able to make FP+ 60 days prior to check in as long as you have tickets linked. I would recommend buying the tickets soon. Rumor has it there will be a price increase on Sunday.

Thank you! I bought gift cards from Giant Eagle. I've been trying to purchase them online with my gift cards and it won't accept the account numbers. I know they were activated?? I guess I'll call and see why.

You will get your plastic tickets in the mail and not have to go to will call if you select mail option. Your tickets will automatically be in your my disney experience account right away, so you can make fast pass+ at the appropriate 60 or 30 day mark. If you get magic bands they will be linked or the plastic tickets are also linked and can both be used.

You don't have to choose will call I order for the tickets to be linked right away to your MDE account. I chose mail and it made no difference. I just used my MB anyway and just put the tickets in my purse for backup but never used them.

I just bought our tickets online. I chose the mail options to get the hard ticket. After the purchase, I went to the reservations/ticket page on MDE section, the tickets I bought for each of us were listed right away and the option to make FPs was open right away. The tickets are estimated to arrive in 2 weeks, but they are already to go on MDE. I don't see a reason for the will call option at all. Unless you are buying tix for a trip that starts in the next 48 hours. Then you might as well just buy tix when you,check in to your resort...

If you will be using MagicBands on the trip, choosing the "Will Call" option (or "E-Ticket" option from some discounters) guests do not have to pick up their tickets at all.
But, the tickets will still be available at any ticket booth or guest relations at any time during the trip, if needed for some reason.
