Linking reservations

My family has two cabins & linked them together so we can eat dinner together. If we link our friends' cabin, will they be able to see our cruise info, such as payments?

Only if they actually access your reservation. To do that, they'd need to have your reservation # and the birthdate of one of the people on the reservation.

No, the names of other people in the party your linked with will show up when you book reservations, etc., but you cannot access their specific reservations.

When I linked our two cabins together, we could see each other's reservations. I thought it was because the same credit was used for both deposits.

We just linked w/my sister & now we can see each other's reservations listed right under ours.

Our friends didn't book yet. If they do, we would like to be seated at dinner w/them. How can we link so we don't see the price/payment info?

I linked our cabin with my daughters and son-in-laws, and YES I can see how much they still owe on their cruise. So if you don't want anyone knowing that you might not want to link them together. Personally, we don't care so it was okay with us.

You can link reservations "just for dining" so that you are seated together. A whole group of us did that on our Med cruise. If you link just for dining, then they can't see your reservation, and you can't see theirs. I think you may have to call DCL to do that.

Sayhello

Thank you all for your responses.

I ended up calling DCL.
I was told that when you link reservations online, the parties linked can see each other's info. If you call DCL & have the reservations linked, you won't see cost & payments for other cabin(s).

This might be a dumb question-so I apologize in advance. But other than to dine together, what is the purpose of linking reservations? We are silver-our friends are new.

Not a dumb question at all, that's what these boards are for.

I've only been on one cruise & have another booked for next year, so I don't have a lot of information.

We are linking reservations to sit together at dinner. I have heard it also works for doing excursions together.

We booked with DU and are silver members. My parents booked their first cruise and linked our reservation with theirs. They cant see our reservation info, but then again neither can I.

I too am curious about what other benefit there are to linking our reservations other than dining together

Generally, one person can then handle the excursion reservations. But, only once the window has opened for each room. For example, if there are two rooms, with one room being a higher Castaway Club level, the room with the higher level gets to book excursions first. The other room cannot be added to the reservation, or make their own reservation until their window opens. But, if both room are at least the same level, one person can make the excursion reservation for everyone one the window opens.

Primarily, it's to make sure that all parties traveling together, who want to be seated a the same table, can do so.

Hmmm...I added our linked reservations with the reservation number and birth date, and I don't see any financial info for any of the others.
