Am I correct in thinking that if my wait list comes through for the final night that I require at VGF, I can the link the reservations so I do not need to move rooms?

Adding the same room size and type to a reservation would be a reservation modification, not a link.

MS can add the extra night while keeping the same original reservation number.

Unless DVC has changed their procedures, wait lists for additional night(s) is processed as a separate reservation.

Yes but MS can take separate reservations and add the nights to the first/main reservation.

I had 3 separate online made reservations at BWV, sent MS an email and they modified the original reservation adding the extra nights.

I would think that waitlist reservations could be handled the same way.

My point was that the wait list will not automatically be combined with the original reservation. They will have to manually combine them after the fact.

Thanks for the reply guys, fingers crossed for my waitlist, I'll call MS if and when it comes through. Really hope it does, we got 5 nights of the 6 nights we need for our pre cruise stay. If we are unsuccessful we will probably try and book something near the port for the night before our sailing.

I have had them do it both ways - never understand why it's not consistent other than, well, it's not consistent. So sometimes it's added to the existing part and other times it's left as a stranded day or two. If that happens though you can call MS and have them merge the reservations together.

Link doesn't seem to be a word in the MS vocabulary any more. What used to be called linking reservations is now something else that they keep correcting me on and yet I haven't retained it yet. Link seems to be too ingrained in my mind. :rotfl: But linking used to be the term to note a member wished to stay in the same room when they had reservations in two different UY and thus the reservation couldn't be merged or combined into one. It might be that they refer to that as a continuing reservation now?
