linking reservations with rented points

I need to borrow 59 points to add on an extra 2 nights at OKW - I am staying there with my own points but I don't want to use any from my next Use Year so thought about renting for the extra 2 nights.

If I do rent the points can I take it that the reservation goes into my name and then we can link with our existing reservation so that we do not have to check out and check back in?

I'm not really sure how this renting thing works

The only way to do it in your name would be not to rent points traditionally but to find someone who will let you pay them to transfer points into your account. I'm not sure how easy that is as you can only transfer once per use year so I'm not sure how many renters are willing to transfer points.

Alternatively you can rent points but the member owns the reservation. both of you will need to phone MS together to get the two reservations linked.

I think for that to work you would want a transfer not rent. one transfer per year.

You should be able to link a rented reservation. I've done separate reservations with a friend at least 3 times. I booked 3 nights, she booked 3 nights, separate reservations #'s and they were able to link them. It was treated as one 6 night stay. The member you rent from will have to put in the request.

Even if you link your own reservation with a rented reservation, you will have to check out and check back in. Since, you didn't own the points used to make the reservation, the owner of those points will need to provide the info to MS to link their reservation to your reservation.

Get a transfer if you can. Be careful with the points you transfer in. You cannot borrow transferred in points.
