at AKV jambo GV. I have Oct 12 booked and then got Oct 14 a couple wks later booked and waitlisted Oct 13. Just today I got the waitlist for the 13 th but now have 3 ressie #. I just called and the CM noted on the ressie that this is a 3 nt stay. Will they link the nts so I don't have to check in and out 3 times.
when I did the WL it was for the night between the other too, why wouldn't they just send me a 3 nt ressie #. Now I have to keep checking to see if it's linked because the CM said they won't do it till it gets closer to the trip dates.
If they can't link them I don't want them but then it will be to late to get something at BWV.

anyone know for sure if they will be linked or not , there are only 6 GV at Jambo:confused3

Are you afraid they'll make you move rooms? I can't see that happening, but maybe I'm wrong.

I just came back from a 3 ressie link at BC. As long as MS made a note on the ressie you should be alright. I stayed in the same room for all 3 ressies
but each new ressie they would slip a new door key under the door at night.
I also got a cleaning with each new ressie.
You will have to speak to the clerk at checkin to explain what happened.
But everything worked out for me with only minor inconviences.

I had 8 nights at aulani booked piece by piece and as each waitlist came through MS liked them for me. Took a day or two from the WL confirmation, and then my reservation changed to one for the entire stay.

I had 10/4 - 10/7 at BWV and waitlisted for the night of the 3rd. Amazingly it came through in 2 days and they added it directly to my existing BW reservation.

Call Member Services and have them put them under one reservation number. Otherwise, you will have to get new keys every day. They will not merge automatically and they cannot merge them at check-in. I've had DVC reservations merged into one number and it worked well.

If you ended up with one reservation for 8 nights with one reservation number, your reservations were not linked they were combined. A combined reservation is better because there is zero chance you will have to check out/check in and get new keys multiple times during your stay. MS modifies one of your reservations and adds the nights from the other reservations to it. They then delete those other reservations. (You can see all this online in your Points Activity.)

If your reservations were linked rather than combined, you would have had several separate reservations, each with their own reservation number. There would be notes in the system to indicate the separate reservations were all part of the same vacation, in hopes the room assigner would put you in the same room for every segment of your stay. That does not, however, protect you from having to check out/check in and get new keys for each segment of your stay.

Sorry for confusion I was using the word "linked" to mean combined.

No need to apologize. The terms are often used interchangeably here but they are actually completely different things so it can get confusing.

It used to be standard practice for MS to link reservations rather than combine them. I've had linked reservations in the past and never had to get new keys or check out and check in again. But some software change in the past year or so changed things and required new keys for each segment of a linked reservation. MS now routinely combines reservations instead of linking them so that you have one reservation, not multiple linked reservations.

The first time I experienced this, I called to have an extra night I booked online linked to my existing reservation. The MS CM put me on hold while she took care of it. I was monitoring my account online and was surprised (and not in a good way!) to see that 1-night reservation get cancelled. I thought the MS CM had misunderstood me but then she came back on the phone to explain she combined that night with my existing reservation. Whew!
