Hi all,

I can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere... can I link my DVA (Disney Vacation Account) to my Magic Band for purchases in park (dining, shopping, etc.)?

Back story - I'm weighing the value of using the Target Red Card strategy to purchase gift cards with a 5% discount, then using those gift cards to fund my DVA, then using my DVA to pay for the balance on my room only reservation, eatin', shoppin', and general merry-makin'.

With a $3000 vacation budget (and that much in my DVA), I figure that will give me a $150 savings through Target purchases, and then an additional $60 in bonus gift cards from Disney; not to mention the convenience and peace of mind knowing I could theoretically ding my Magic Band everywhere and already have it covered with my DVA.

That's $210 saved/gifted (that will probably end up being spent at WDW anyways *laughs* )

Thanks!

No.

Wait... if I charge with the Magic Band it goes to my room bill so I can pay that with the DVA anyway. Same difference.

I'm in a flurry of WDW budgeting ideas and I didn't think that post through.

This thread is now resigned to the magical Nevermind Land.

Nope. DVA can't be used for room charges. It can't be used for anything onsite or in person.

Just keep the gift cards and use those; and forego the extra $20 bonus.

I don't wanna leave that $60 ($20 per $1000) on the table. Of course, all of this is assuming I can fund my DVA with Gift Cards...

Which I guess is my next question:

Can I fund my DVA with Disney Gift Cards? I've seen that I can make an initial deposit using gift cards, but nowhere does it say I can continue to make deposits with them.

Yes, you can fund your DVA with gift cards. You can only pay for your room reservation and theme park tickets with it though or if you get a package you can pay for that.

Thanks, I think that helps me. Now, I've got a stragety. Stragi... uhm, plan.
