Linking Magic Band and Tickets

I have an unused 4 day pass hopper that I am linking to a MagicBand I purchased through Disney Store. If this person ends up not going on the trip, I know I can take the unused ticket and reassign it to someone else. I assume the now linked MagicBand "goes" with the ticket so the new person can then use that MagicBand. If the new person already has 2 other bands than this would become their third MagicBand they can use interchangeably. Correct?

If you are unsure of who is going, do not link the MagicBand until it is finalized. Tickets can easily be reassigned, MagicBands cannot.

All you need to book FPs is a linked ticket. Link the MagicBand only after all your trip details are final.

I clearly had a blank moment. I even have all the FP+ scheduled so I knew that all I needed was a ticket. I don't know why I just didn't think of linking the Magic Band at the last moment.

The"new/different" person can just use the MagicBand, FPs, and the linked ticket in that specific MDE. Any other MBs will not be interchangeable.
