Linking Hotwire Dolphin reservation to MDE

Hi all! I know this has been discussed before, but I wasn't able to find anything very current. I booked a room at the Dolphin on Hotwire. My confirmation email has a "Hotwire itinerary number" and a "hotel confirmation number." I tried to link the stay to MDE using the hotel confirmation number and got an error message that my reservation could not be located as entered. Do I just need to wait a bit longer (I booked the hotel yesterday), or do I need to call Hotwire and/or Dolphin? I noticed that the hotel confirmation number from Hotwire is 10 digits, whereas other confirmation numbers I've had at the Dolphin are only 8 - not sure if that means I'm using the wrong number or not. If I need to call, do I call Hotwire or Dolphin?

I would call Hotwire and have them get you the Disney reservation number. Some people have reported it can take a few days and others day say a few hours to get the correct info. Hotwire needs to provide you the correct number to add to MDE and it won't be in your initial email :) Hope that helps.
 
Thanks for the advice to call - the hotel confirmation number in my email confirmation from Hotwire was definitely not the correct number. I ended up deciding to call the Dolphin first (since I figured they'd be more likely to know what I was talking about with an MDE confirmation number), and they were able to confirm the Hotwire reservation and give me the correct (8 number) confirmation number for MDE. Thanks!
 
Good luck. I've never booked a Disney Neighbor resort through Hotwire. I have booked both on site and Disney Springs resorts through Priceline. Except for the one I booked today and two of five I booked through the saving mouse, they've all linked within hours. The one I booked in June for Dec has not linked. I called Disney again this week. They see that the case was escalated nearly 4 months ago but haven't a clue as to why no one could get it to link. I also got my 3rd phone disconnect during that conversation. I waited for a call back which never came.
I heard from a guy who had the same issue with Swan this year--never got it linked. Two days ago, I booked another for the same hotel/dates (Best Western whose confirm #'s worked quickly for three August and one Sept stay) in Dec and, so far, it won't link. It's only been 48 hrs. Today, I booked the same through Priceline. It's only been a few hours, but it hasn't linked. Basically, I'm trying to determine if my issue is with Best Western or with Disney.

I just read that you got a correct number. For others, I'll say that Best Western has been a 9 digit number. I contacted the manager who seemed really frustrated that this is happening to reservations there about my number. I even asked if it could be changed--it couldn't. Glad it worked for you.
