In the fine print it states all Adult Florida residents need to provide a form of ID to validate their residency at the entrance. How would that work if you are planning to link your park ticket to your Magic Band?. Before you would pay at the window and show your ID prior to getting your passes. For those that have bought online is there a separate line where you have to dig out your id once you've scanned your bracelet at the turnstile? Just a bit confused about whether I even need to bring mine given the new updates?

No....the only time you have to provide your FDLs is when you validate your passes/tickets the first time. After that, you link your passes to your My Disney Experience account by way of your phone, computer, or a Guest Services kiosk/castmember with a tablet. Once linked, your Magic Band is all you need to enter the parks.

I never even thought about that. Would they be able to do it at the hotel when you check in or would you have to go to, say, DTD's Guest Services to do it?

I never had to show my florida ID at the entrance when using the magicband. But I had to show my passholder plastic card and my ID to receive the passholder discounts. If you haven't picked up the plastic passholder card you do need to get that from the ticket counter (I got my at Hollywood studios so pretty sure all the ticket booths have them). This plastic card is also what you use for the parking pass.

You know, I do not know if the hotel can do that. We were staying a couple of days in Orlando off site before our Fantasy cruise so we drove to DTD and activated them there (NOTE: go to the Guest Services near the Marketplace...the one at DisneyQuest does not have the setup to link passes to MDX.)

I was so happy I did this...it made our WDW stay after the cruise easier. My FPP selections were made after I boarded the Fantasy and before sailaway.....did it on my phone.

I'll definitely do that if it can't be done at the hotel. We check in on the 1st, but we don't go to a park until the 2nd, so we won't be in TOO much of a rush.

I think you still have to activate your pass with a ticket representative. Even though it's linked to MDE doesn't mean it will work the first time unless it's activated. Again, I'm just guessing, but I don't think that process would have changed.

I'll find out in a week and a half, because I have a renewal linked to MDE now, that shows assigned to me, but it's not activated yet. I'm sure I'll have to show my ID at the ticket window with the voucher to have it activated.

Maybe CheshireFigment will have more information. :)

So does that mean I'd have to do it at the TTC? Or could I still activate it at DTD?

That I don't know. That's a question for CheshireFigment or any other ticket knowledgable person.

Does DTD have ticket representatives there? We don't usually go there, so I don't know.

I've picked up park tickets there before, so...yes? lol :confused3

I'd do just about anything to avoid spending park time trying to straighten things out. :)

If you only have a voucher you will need to go to GS to activate the voucher before entering a park. You can go to DTD GS, or the ticket windows at any of the parks. It can't be done at a hotel. For anyone over 18 you will need a valid photo ID. Remember to always carry your actual AP ticket and photo ID. Most shops offer merchandise discounts. They need you AP and ID to give you the discount. We'll even buy our sodas and water at a gift shop that sales them, 10% saving.

I know I can pick up physical tickets at DTD GS, but I imagine I'd be able to activate a MB, or whatever it is I have to do, there too?
