Linking a park ticket to My Disney Experience

We have a friend who is joining our party in December and he purchases a one day park ticket directly from Disney. He received a confirmation number (12 digits) but when I went to link this to his name in our party it said to enter the ticket ID number, not the conformation number. I am having trouble finding the ticket ID number, and really don't want to sit on hold with Disney for an hour. I typically purchase our tickets through Undercover Tourist and also get the actual ID number---how do I find it for this one day ticket purchased directly from Disney?

The MDE website will link tickets by confirmation number.

Does he have is own MDE account and was he logged in to that account when he purchased his ticket? If he has his own MDE account, are you connected via the Family & Friends list?

Enter the confirmation number. It should work. Just an FYI for others, the business link showed up with ****, which means the filter did its job.

He does not have his own MDE account but is linked to my account. When I went into "link tickets" I typed in the 12 digit confirmation number and got this error message:

• This reservation is already linked or cannot be claimed online by the confirmation number. If you have the individual ticket(s), please link to your account using the ticket ID. If you feel you have received this message in error, please try again or call (407) 939-4357 for assistance. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call. If you are a Non-U.S. Guest please visit our Walt Disney World Resort phone directory for a list of International numbers.

The ticket reservation is not already linked to this person. It says I need to link the ticket by the "ticket ID", which is what I am trying to find. The confirmation e=mail from the ticket purchase only provided a confirmation number. Interestingly, when I have purchased tickets from "another seller" they provided a confirmation number for the sale AND the ticket ID number for each ticket purchased--this is the number I have used to link tickets in the past, and apparently this is the number I need to link this ticket--but where do I find it?

@snackyx, Yes, his entering his email address and other information required to buy the ticket direct from Disney online resulted in his creating his own Disney MDE account, even though he didn’t realize it. You’ll need to connect his profile in your MDE with his Disney account using the email address he used to buy the ticket. You’ll be linked as F&F but just need to make sure all boxes are checked to allow planning together, seeing photos, etc.
