Linked multiple reservations - same resort/room category - cannot make date sequential ADRs all at once ?

Hello,
Have been a DVC member for @ 5 years, but seem to run in to this issue frequently.

This issue specifically coming up: when piecing together a week vacation - same resort, same room category - 5 different reservation numbers (1 / 1 / 1 / 1 /3 nights), I run in to issues with not being able to book ADRs thru the length of stay. I've linked them in MDE. I've called member services (multiple times) and have been told it cannot be done.

Has anyone every gotten a different result that NO?

I struggle understanding WHY it wouldn't be allowed. :confused3

Almost all of my past DVC reservations have been pieced together, or split stays (two or more different resorts). Even then, I don't know why they wouldn't allow it - it's always under the same membership ID (two different contracts).

Can anyone provide insight or experience?

Thank you!

I would just email them and ask them to merge all of your nights into one reservation. Since they are at the same resort, same room type and view, and under the same membership, they can do it. I have this happen all the time.

Then, you have just one trip for ADR purposes.

As long as those are separate reservations, then you cannot book ADRs for your length of stay. However, as long as those reservations were booked with the same membership and the same resort with the same type of room, Member Services can combine them. I've even combined reservations that span across a UY. I don't see why it could not be done for you.

I know it seems that people say this cannot be done but on Sunday I had two ressies, not same categories, and called DVC and they were able to make my ressies for my nine night stay. Maybe the CM wasn't aware with all their new training LOL, but I was able to do it and not aware it counts as two separate.

Hi, thank you for your quick replies, it's a mystery to me then I must be continuously getting the wrong information.
I'll call MS!

Have you asked MS to "merge" the DVC reservations into a single reservation (not just "link" them as a continuing stay)? There are only a couple reasons why they would not be able to do that. The first would be if the various reservations are not all the same room type. The other would be if the reservations were made using different memberships.

Once the various room reservations are merged into a single reservation, there should be no problem making ADRs for your entire stay.

I thought if the reservations had different names on it, no matter how small a difference, they couldn't do it as well? I remember having an issue previously when a waitlist came through and it was because I used my wife's hyphenated last name on one reservation and then used her maiden name for another reservation... Not sure about this one, though...

That is possible. I know when I ask for a merge, I do list the guests in my email to ensure it’s correct. If I am on the phone, the CM always asks and confirms.

ADR's can only be booked based on each single reservation. That's a limitation of the ADR booking system. It always has been. Somehow, the old fastpass+ system worked just fine with multiple contiguous reservations, but the ADR system does not.

Reservations booked with the same membership should be able to be merged. There may be some very specific situations where that cannot be accomplished, such as varying occupants or maybe if part of the reservation was booked during the home-resort booking advantage period. Your best option is to get those reservations merged.

I had my separate reservations merged 4 days ago in order to make my ADRs yesterday and it didn't make any difference - I am still only able to make my plans one day in advance AND my old, separate reservations for individual days still shows on MDE along with my merged. When I go to try "Check In" to see if it will rectify, the resort matches my reservation but the dates are way off.
There are more crazy things happening and weird "pardon me" or "OOps" screens right now on all the Disney websites than I have seen in 15 years!
