Link to Leger13's new pre-TR is up

Hi Carla, I saw the link to your pre-trippie on Sharky's thread and decided to hop on over. First off, I love your haircut! I've been wanting to do that for over a year and I'm still scared! Your trip looks awesome. Before DH and I joined DVC we would always stay at POFQ, it's such an awesome resort :lovestruc I also really like your pins. That is something I haven't started but I think looks like so much fun. Do you just collect or do you trade also? The trading part is what confuses me :confused3

Can't wait for more!

Betsy :goodvibes

yay!! :yay: :yay: Betsy joined!! So glad to see you bounce over here too :thumbsup2

Thank you for the compliment on my hair. The thing that always makes me not afraid of chopping all my hair off is the fact that I know that it will grow back out. Just keep that in mind and maybe you'll get the courage to do it too. Or maybe cut a little at a time, if you like it after a day or so, go shorter if you want. You might be surprised :thumbsup2 How long is your hair now?

Thank you! I can't wait to go! And I can't believe so many people are gonna be coming with us and gonna be down there at the same time. I'm so jealous that you are part of the DVC. I keep trying to talk my DH into that but no luck yet. :confused3 Glad to hear another good review on POFQ! We are really excited to stay there!

On the pins....they are totally addicting. I just collect right now. I'm thinking of taking the pins that I'm not so fond of though and trading them in September. I'm not one to just go up to a person and say "will you trade this crappy pin for your awesome pin??" :rotfl: I would feel like I was ripping them off. :confused3 Plus I don't really understand the whole trading thing either. I think, If I paid for it, I should keep it. Plus, I'm a pack rat so collecting is easier than trading :rotfl: :rotfl:

hmmm....not sure where FPtigger has been lately. Come out, come out where-ever you are! You are supposed to be helping me here! :rolleyes1

Thanks Carla :goodvibes

My hair is shorter now than I had expected after my last visit to the salon  It's a little longer than shoulder length, the problem is it's curly! Curly hair can be a real pain and I don't want to make it worse so we'll see if I get the guts to do it or not!

I begged my DH to join DVC for YEARS!!! He would never consider it and said we probably would never join. Lo and behold last Feb we took DD who was 11 months at the time on her first trip. SHE LOVED IT! By the end of that trip we were official DVC members  And that was without me begging and pleading or even bringing it up. There is hope for you! I honestly never thought DH would consider and in one week he reconsidered and joined :yay: You really will love the POFQ, it's so beautiful and quaint there  The foodcourt is great and it's the only place at WDW where you can get beignets and they are amazing :lovestruc

I never thought about just collecting the pins. I think I would really like that. I have the same issues with you about trading. I'm not really one to just go up to someone and ask for a pin, plus I would hate to lose anything I really like. Hmmmm...I may have found a new Disney addiction to start...DH will be so happy :rotfl:

ahhh curly hair....I have a friend with curly hair. She had her hair grown down to her waist and then a couple years ago she chopped it to her chin. Needless to say she's growing it out again. So, I totally don't blame you for keeping it longer. It's harder to control short curly hair I'm sure. I love Curly hair btw. I'm jealous!

Oh wow! That's so awesome that your DH reconsidered after ya'll took your DD! Maybe it will work out for me that way after we have a child. That would be so nice. I keep telling Chris that we could go whenever we wanted and only have to pay for tickets and food but that still didn't sell him on it :confused3 I talk about it every time we go to Disney. Maybe if I rent some points or something he'd see how great the DVC villas/rooms are and that would sell him. hmmmmm. Maybe we'll do that next year. I think the biggest thing that turns him away is the fact that it's kind of like taking on a 2nd mortgage. I'm not up on all the details on the DVC. Maybe I should get the DVD on it. I keep trying to get Chris to talk to someone at disney that knows what their talking about but I think he always says no because he's afraid he'll be sucked into it :rotfl:

As for the food court at POFQ, that is the main reason we are staying there. When we got married Chris had already fallen in love with this place called Cressent City Binette that was local here. He actually had Binette's at our wedding reception as his grooms "cake". We didn't get to have any because the guests ate them all :rotfl: . And then sadly, the local store closed. :sad2: We went to the POFQ resort last september to try out the food court and fell in love with all the choices and chris was in heaven with the Binette's. I think we'll be spending a lot of time at that food court :rotfl:

:rotfl: tell your DH he can thank your Dis friend for getting you addicted to the disney pins. check out www.disneypins.com It lists a lot of the pins that have already come out and it also gives you a preview of what is about to come out and what is brand new. I love that web site. I even found a pin that I love so much, I will be getting it tattooed on me here in the next few weeks :rotfl: . It's a pin I'd never be able to buy becasue it's only in Hong Kong and is $45!! :scared1: Granted, the tattoo will cost more than that so that doesn't make much sense but...yeah, you'll learn that I don't make a lot of sense most of the time anyways :rotfl:

Hey I am luving your report, now since I am new how do you post pictures??????

thank you :thumbsup2 Glad to have you aboard!! and we already PM'd about this so you got my long winded description :lmao:

Hey just kidding. Let's just say that covers the mother thing. :lmao: Remember where I am and you'll know why I had to call you on that. It's all good :goodvibes

oh I know you were just kidding....I was messin' around too
oh yeah :rotfl2: forgot you were in LA like Cheri. She probably would have corrected me too :rotfl2:

Glad you understand curly hair, some people think it's no big deal! UGH!

That grooms cake sounds awesome! Too bad that neither of you got to have any. That seems to happen with a lot of things at weddings. You plan and plan yet miss out on half of the things :confused3 I think it's so cool that POFQ has something that you can only get there in all of the world.

That is the perfect idea :thumbsup2 Rent some points and once you stay in a villa it will be so hard to go back. Honestly, it makes it so much easier with DD too. We take up so much space with her stuff that it's nice to be able to spread out a little.

I know once I go to that pin site it's going to be big trouble :rotfl2: $45 for a pin  I think the tattoo will be cool!

Are you talking about beignets? :snooty: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:lmao: yeah yeah...those things. I never said I was a perfect speller :rolleyes1

No biggie :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No biggie :rotfl2:

yup yup :thumbsup2 i hear my friend complain about it all the time

yeah, it was too bad but we hear that it was really good! We would have gotten some on our honeymoon at disney because we were supposed to stay at POFQ but they made us upgrade (with a discount of course) because POFQ was going to be under rehab. We were so ticked but we got to stay at the Beach Club and loved it. We've been wanting to stay at POFQ since then so this will kind of be like a 2nd honeymoon :thumbsup2

the villas look nice. yeah, i can get him hooked by trying them out and then hopefully my evil plan will work :rotfl:

:rotfl: yeah, once you start looking at them online there won't be any stopping there. hehe :) sounds likeyou already have the addiction, just haven't given into temptation yet.

Some of the pins are outrageously priced but I can't wait to get the tattoo. Chris actually okayed me getting 2 on the same day!! :woohoo: :woohoo: So now I'm gonna get two disney tattoos, either saturday or monday. I can't wait!!! If Chris gets the night off on Saturday then we're going to the tattoo shop and getting our ink....but if not it will have to wait until monday. I haven't gotten a tattoo since 2006....hope I don't chicken out :rotfl2:

Good gravy Carla! 17 pages already??? I saw the new link in your siggy but have been pretty swamped and hadn't stopped by yet. Well I'm all caught up now and will hopefully be around regularly to keep up with y'all ;)

Howdy Chris, glad you are feeling better. Looks like you have a good handle on your plans here and great pics of your DW and DS with the characters ...love the shot of Dale feeding him the bottle.

I see you to have a small but ferocious dog ....we have 2 now and what they lack in size they do seem to make up for with energy. I hope nothing of importance was lost in the garage tsunami :thumbsup2

On the camera thing ...Carla can probably tell you that I'm one of the resident camera nuts and own a Rebel XT. The upside of the dSLRs are their speed and zoom (especially with the right lens) and overall picture quality, even at higher ISO. They are especially good for action stuff and low light situations that a point-n-shoot can't keep up with. The downside is that carrying it and its accessories means a real camera bag (or in my case a camera backpack).

The Canon PowerShot A720 is a good choice as far as point-n-shoot's go and has great picture quality from what I've seen (a friend has one). It is even pretty fast if you don't need to use the flash and don't take the ISO too high. I think the flash was the only noticable downside of it ...it had a kind of slow recharge rate.

And Carla, the shots with your new camera look GREAT! I had held back from saying anything about the slighly fuzzy pics of your pins ...but am relieved that you replaced the old camera.

OK, OK, I'll stop babbling about cameras now

The tentative first few days look like fun, and I would go for the fireworks cruise, it looks like you'd get a spectacular view and it would be worth it to avoid all those crowds. And yeah, I'd pay the extra for audio to get the full effect of the show.

Keep the good stuff comin' y'all - we'll catcha later!!!

:lmao: :lmao: you know how I roll. I end up being more chatty on the pre-tr than the actual tr for some reason. Plus now with someone helping me with the pre-tr things are really flowin'. You should she Trentmom's thread :lmao:

garage tsunami :rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes Chris...Mustard is one of the Digital Camera technical people on here. Listen to him. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

thank you!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I feel even better about my new camera now that I have a compliment from you! I'm loving all the features it has for a point and shoot. The pictures of my pins with my old camera is what really made me push for a new camera. I just couldn't take it anymore. But, the new camera has a digital macro feature that makes ultra close ups possible and crystal clear :thumbsup2 I don't know why I didn't go with canon to begin with.

thanks for the vote on the cruise. We're definately going to do it for my DH's birthday. And I decided to pay the extra money myself to get the audio. I don't want to miss out on anything when I'll already be paying all that money. An extra $50 is no big deal.

So glad you are back and all caught up. If my pictures ever get craptacular again feel free to yell at me

FPTigger - I am so sorry that I came onto your pre-trippie and did not even say hello :wave2: I met Carla on Sharky's thread and hopped on over here. Your son is adorable! I love the pics of him with Chip/Dale...too cute! You're doggie story/pics made me laugh although I'm sure it might not have been too funny at the time!

Look forward to hearing more :goodvibes

There will be tattoo pics, right? :)

oh yes, for sure!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 they will be disney related so it goes with the pre-tr, right? wanna see the pictures of the pins the tatts are gonna be modeled after?

Another one on your leg? You'll be sporting lotsa ink when I see you next.:goodvibes
