I have NEVER in my life seen crowds at rope drop like I did yesterday at MGM. We have sick kids and are trying to salvage our trip a bit by getting some of our party to a few parks for a few hours. We were there early along with thousands and thousands of others. When I was at RNR at 9:07 am I had to wait 20 min in line just to get a FASTPASS!!!!! I was in line with a Disney employee and he speculated the crowds would be at capacity in a few hours. Tour guide "you know who" listed this as the best choice for the day.

Anyone else seeing the parks slammed right now?

We just got back last week - we always go the first week in June - and we thought it was much more crowded than in previous years! I don't think there is an "uncrowded" week anymore, especially in the summer! I think we are going to go a few weeks later next year since the first week in June has gotten so bad.
Sorry to hear your children are sick - hope they feel better soon. Just a thought ,but one thing we try to do is to go to the park (right at opening) that had Extra Magic Hours the night before. This seems like it helps with crowds at least for a few hours! Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!:wizard:

This is one of the busiest times of year. All the parks are getting slammed. The other website that recommends certain parks on certain days also recommended Disney/MGM yesterday, which means any of the following:

1. Things were even worse at the other parks;
2. They both got it wrong, and should have recommended a different park;
3. A lot more of the general public is paying attention to such recommendations now, resulting in a park surge for whatever park they recommend.

I think #1 is the most likely explanation.

If this was a "Star Wars Weekend" then that will have something to do with it, the parks are maxed out these days! pirate:

it's things like this that make me even happier that we opt for the park hopper option, this way we can go to another park if we feel the need to, and also to see if other parks are worse off then the original park we went to!!! Can't wait to go again!!! :thumbsup2

Not much to add, but that we just got back yesterday from a week stay. The first few days were awesome, but the last two days were terrible! (Note: first time visit, so I have no comparison).

I told my wife that if Monday & Tuesday had been my first days, I would have been severally disheartened.
