Does anyone have experience with the lines for the Backlot Tour during crowded times? We will be there March 21 (week before Easter). It is the only ride I have scheduled after lunch. Touringplans is telling me it will only be a 5 minute wait for 1 pm. The rest of the afternoon is shows and exhibits. Any experience if this will be correct? Thanks!

Thanks! Should I try to squeeze it in the morning and maybe fastpass Little Mermaid and do that in the afternoon? The rest of the afternoon is the car show, Indiana Jones, Muppetvision, Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow. Not in that order.

Oops I meant we will be there on SUnday, March 24. Another question... will I need a fastpass for Little Mermaid?

They probably won't be using Fast Passes for Little Mermaid.

When we schedule DHS, we first decide which of the two Lights Motors Action shows (the cars show) we will attend (there are usually shows at about 1:20 and 4:15). Then we check the showtimes for the Indiana Jones show (usually about 5 shows a day, so a few more options than for Lights Motors Action).

The we figure out how to fit the other afternoon attractions around these two shows.

You can find the show times for the week at Steve Soares' site, http://www.wdwent.com. It is updated every Saturday evening for the upcoming week (Sunday thru Saturday). Show times in March will probably be similar to what they are currently are, if you want to look at it now to get an idea of likely show times.

As others have said, I would plan 45-60 mintues for the Backlot Tour. Your wait will depend on just where they are in the attraction when you hit it. If you just miss the start of a "tour," it may be a 15-20 minute wait before the start of the next one.

I don't think I would do it in the morning, however, if you plan to do Toy Story Mania, Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower or Terror, and/or Star Tours. All of those are better for the less-crowded morning hours.

Based upon what I have heard about wait times for the new Jack Sparrow attraction, I think I would aim to do it early in the morning also, rather than the afternoon.

Your Little Mermaid wait will depend on just where they are in the show when you hit it (like the Backlot Tour). I don't consider it a morning priority.
