Family wants to spend a few days here right after Easter. After reading about FOTLP and how long lines are during spring break, I called about getting a room on-site for one night. Least expensive option...$359 plus taxes...OUCH! Plus we are a family of 6 so I need to buy one more daily pass at $51. Can anyone give me an idea on how long the waits really are during spring break, with and without passes? The cost seems so insane, yet paying to stand in line an hour per ride (or more) is just as crazy. HELP:scared: only 3 rooms left! Thanks

you can find much cheaper hotels but if u want fofl access it costs 51 per person extra on top of the admisssion price. there is a link on that on prices.

http://www.universalorlando.com/tic_express.html

also take advantage of the online deal of 79.99 per person both parks. that equals to 40 bucks pero person per park.

just weigh your options.

I am no expert . i am sure someone here knows better how to help you out

Unfortunately an hour wait at spring break is not uncommon and is expected. If you get there between 8:30 and 9:00 you will have a jump on things but the parks and lines will fill pretty quickly. I would guess the wait times will be upwards of 60-75 mins towards late morning w/o the Express Pass and somewhere in the 15-30 min range with Express. I was there with the family last year and everything had a wait by 11:30am. Do the main attactions towards the front of the park first and then head to the back.

two of us went third week of feb, waited no longer than 5 min per ride without front of the line passes.

I've heard that the lines thin out after 4:00pm. If thats true, I could plan on bringing the teens back to get on the big rides and let the younger ones hang out at the condo with DH. Any truth to that? I'm sure everyone would be willing to hit the parks by 8:00am once or twice during vacation but want to sleep a bit later the rest of the days. As for discounts, I tried everything but since its a peak time they won't even take AAA. Thanks for the input, I really do appreciate the help. The room is on hold for two days so I still have time to decide.

Remember darboymom.. 1 night on-site gets you 2 days of FOTL. So you can pick up your room keys when you check-in early that morning and you can use them that whole day and the whole next day.

This is more than a $600 value for 2 days during the dates you'll be there.

It's a weird way of looking at it but it's true.

If not, you can definitely work around the parks with a plan. :)
