Lines at Hollywood Studios before park opening

How are the lines lately? I know they must be crazy with the amount of people trying to get boarding groups for ROTR, but how many minutes should I plan for to get inside the park once I arrive?

I think on one of the disunplugged shows someone said they were there at like 7:30 and their were lines for a 9 am rope drop

Almost all accounts suggest arriving 30-45 minutes prior to park opening will have you in the park in time to use the app to get in the virtual queue. Those arriving earlier are hoping to get in standby lines for other rides at park opening after securing a boarding group.

On Saturday I entered the line at 6:20 and was in the park by 6:45

If you are in the security line 30 minutes early you’ll be fine. If you’re driving that means arriving at the parking booths 45 minutes early.

If your main point is a boarding pass then like others have said 30 to 45 minutes before park open is good. If your wanting good position for another ride/land as well then I suggest about an hour or so early.
