are some kiosks a better option than others?

eg are the ones near the entrance busier than those farther into the parks?

are there "best" locations in each park?

experiences? ideas? :)

Good question. I wonder the same thing. Also I wonder if it's best to go strait to them when In the park or wait till later and use that time to go strait to the rides.

So far, this seems to be the pattern. Over time, other trends (certain kiosks always/never crowded) may become apparent.

Note that the below applies mainly to off site guests with no ability to pre-book:

The sample size appears to be too small right now to draw any conclusions. But I think that there is likely going to be what I would call the "Toy Story Mania Effect" with the kiosks. Under FP-, one could rush to TSM to ride first, and then be confronted with a half hour FP line upon exiting, or rush to the FP machines and risk being confronted with a half hour SB line after securing the FPs. There was no "right or wrong" to this. Just different approaches. I can see how this may become the norm for all FP+ kiosks. Some people will rush to headline attractions and knock them off before the crowds build, and then go to the kiosks after that, encountering longer lines and fewer selection options, but already having done some major attractions without waiting in long lines. Others will rush to the kiosks to secure the FP+ times of their choosing, but after having done so, may find themselves in 20-30 minute lines for some major attractions. Right now, I can't tell if there is a superior strategy because there haven't been many reports from off-site guests. I leave in two weeks, and I am leaning toward riding first and then heading to some of the more remote kiosks to take my chances. For example, if we head straight to Space Mountain and ride that first, and then use a FP+ "runner" to go to Storybook Circus to use the machines there, (or the ones in Tomorrowland if the line hasn't built up yet), I am betting that the line at the kiosks there, 20 minutes after park opening, will be pretty empty. Since this will be my first time using the machines, and we will have to do all that "linking" stuff, I am guessing that my time at the kiosk will be way longer than my typical time at a FP- machine (which was, oh, about 20 seconds to get 3 FPs). If I go straight to the machines in Tomorrowland and fiddle around with the machines for 10 minutes, by the time we get to SM for our standby ride, the line might be 20+ minutes given that it will be a holiday weekend. What I really need is a FP+ "Concierge" to whom I could give our passes and a list of attractions and FP+ times, and have him/her go to a remote machine while we hit a few early attractions first thing in the morning. Anyone out there want to make some easy money? :)

Josh at EasyWDW has the MK kiosks ranked in one of his recent posts. At that point the one with the least lines early in the day was in Storybook Circus, but the second best one was in Town Square Theater! :confused3 So distance from the entrance is pertinent, but knowing where the kiosks are will give you an advantage if Disney's signage to one isn't very good/there's one tucked away somewhere people don't notice for some reason.

Like a hidden bathroom?!:rotfl2:

I am wondering the same thing. The FP+ Kiosks are going to be "the new ride", as people line up for a FP+. I just hope that I can do all the FP+ for my party, while they continue to enjoy the park. We need the off site guests to fill us in on their experiences, as well as where the FP+ kiosks are and how long the process takes.

our experiences - we did have advance FP+ booking (staying onsite) but no smart phone so we did need the kiosks occasionally

Tons of CMs out early in the morning - honestly we think they drop the numbers of FP CMs after a certain point.

I do think the best plan is to go to RD - immediately ride something major (TSM, Safari, Soarin) then book your FP for the day. There are FP+ places by all 3 of those so you can come off and book - we did not see lines early in the morning.

Do KNOW where the FP+ kiosks are - I never got a list and whenever we needed one we'd go looking for a location.

Saw multiple places with longish lines - especially behind the times board in AK

Quietest place we found was in a shop directly behind the Sleepy Hollow Waffle place in Liberty Square - literally we were the only ones in there.

That's interesting-thanks.:cheer2:
