We were there Sun 10/28-11/1 and the 4/5 ph lines were consistantly shorter than the reg lines we were in with our AP...and yes we tried to join the rest of our party in those 4/5 ph lines but AP was sent back to the long lines.
I am happy for the people with the 4/5 PH but wish I was able to do a shorter line too with my AP.

So we are a family of 4 and my DH will have an AP, while the rest of us will have 5 day ph. Are you saying they are going to make him wait in a separate line because of this? That is ridiculous if that is the case!
It'll probably operate like they've done for FPs. The majority rules. So in your case (as with the 3 day case above) I think they'd let you. However, I'm not sure what the number split was like for the AP poster above, so perhaps APs are being handled differently.
I'm pleased to hear that the lines are not longer/slower as originally experienced. Goes to show that Disney is aware and listening to its patrons.
