line etiquette questions

this is our first trip w/potty trained kids :cool1:

... but we can never be too far from a restroom :guilty:

if we're in line and one of them announces 'i need to go potty' can one of us stay in line while the other takes a run to the nearest bathroom to take care of busines .... w/o getting everyone in line behind us upset?

if the line is moving fast can we keep our place in the front until the other ones arrive and let people pass us to go one ... again w/o incurring too much ratn?

do what we do....go to the bathroom before getting in any line...
but yes, if nature suddenly calls in the middle of the line, then one child and one parent can run off to the bathroom, while the rest stay in line..
but again, best to go to the bathroom first...
and if you're using Fastpasses, you won't spend all that long in line anyway...

I have yet to leave a line due to the 'gotta go, gotta go right now' syndrome. But, that's only because we were one of those families that use the bathrooms just about hourly!! Everyone has to stop in the bathroom and 'try' to go. Now, my dd, 12, knows the routine and we rarely have any 'last minute' trips. Yes, I know it's hard with the little ones who are just training. I would also tell the kids that the rule is "potty first, then ride".
If you are in a line that lends itself to leaving and then catching up, then sure go ahead. For the most part, a lot of the people you will be passing will have already seen you exiting!! If it's a ride that would make it hard to get back into the line, like Test Track since it has that preshow, you could have the family members that are still in line, just step aside and wait for you. Most people will have no problem with a harried mom and her toddler meeting up with dad and the other kids. It's those families that abuse it by having dad get in line at 3:00, while the rest of the group of 13 goes to the bathroom, gets some snacks and finally shows up to push and shove their way to dad at about 3:30!!!! That's a problem. One or two people..okay, but not more than that please.

Judging from the "comments" I have gotten simply using the FP line I personlly wouldn't do this.
TJ

Just curious as to what kind of comments you have gotten from using FP? :earsboy:
