I just read a thread about other people's vacation experience and I have to say after just returning home that it is AMAZING to me how rude some guests are at Disney - I HOPE none are Canadian!!
We get to the parks each morning before opening. As you well know, 15 min before the park opens, they let you in the gates so you can cue up just outside the "land" you want to get to for your first ride. It is AMAZING to me the number of people who worm through a dead stop crowd separating children from their parents just so they can be further ahead in the mass when the ropes get dropped! I challenged one lady on this as she pushed her way by me only to be stopped ahead of me and she said "well I thought everyone was waiting for a parade and we just wanted to keep going". Oh ya lady, 5 thousand people all decided to take in a parade on a narrow street about 400 deep!
Then there are the families who send the fastest runner to the ride to get in line and so by the time the rest of the family catches up, they get to walk through about 200 people to go up in the line to where their 1 family member is! That's polite!
And then there are those that see the line, acknowledge the length, and hang out on the sidelines only to slip in about 1/3 back from the front once it starts moving. This happened every morning at the turnstiles (which I must say seem to be getting slower since they changed the whole finger thing - you now scan one finger as opposed to putting 2 fingers in)!
Here's the thing "line cutters" - we are all excited, we all want to get to where we are going with as little wait time as possible, but some of us have much better manners and patience than others.
The next time you go pushing your way through a crowd, perhaps you will come across a family with a child in a wheelchair, and reflect for a moment on how precious your time at Disney is, whether you are in a crowd, or in a line. And you will slow down enough to respect those that are in front of you and do not see the need to rush a perfect day, in a perfect place with their family!
