I just read a thread about other people's vacation experience and I have to say after just returning home that it is AMAZING to me how rude some guests are at Disney - I HOPE none are Canadian!!

We get to the parks each morning before opening. As you well know, 15 min before the park opens, they let you in the gates so you can cue up just outside the "land" you want to get to for your first ride. It is AMAZING to me the number of people who worm through a dead stop crowd separating children from their parents just so they can be further ahead in the mass when the ropes get dropped! I challenged one lady on this as she pushed her way by me only to be stopped ahead of me and she said "well I thought everyone was waiting for a parade and we just wanted to keep going". Oh ya lady, 5 thousand people all decided to take in a parade on a narrow street about 400 deep!

Then there are the families who send the fastest runner to the ride to get in line and so by the time the rest of the family catches up, they get to walk through about 200 people to go up in the line to where their 1 family member is! That's polite!

And then there are those that see the line, acknowledge the length, and hang out on the sidelines only to slip in about 1/3 back from the front once it starts moving. This happened every morning at the turnstiles (which I must say seem to be getting slower since they changed the whole finger thing - you now scan one finger as opposed to putting 2 fingers in)!

Here's the thing "line cutters" - we are all excited, we all want to get to where we are going with as little wait time as possible, but some of us have much better manners and patience than others.

The next time you go pushing your way through a crowd, perhaps you will come across a family with a child in a wheelchair, and reflect for a moment on how precious your time at Disney is, whether you are in a crowd, or in a line. And you will slow down enough to respect those that are in front of you and do not see the need to rush a perfect day, in a perfect place with their family!

mtmbyck,
I think I remember you saying that you went to WH on March 1st. Just wondering if you were the family on the plane from Toronto that met the couple with 5 kids and a babysitter that were also staying in WH. You were going to wait for them to follow you there if the couple that were meeting them at the airport didn't show up. Just wondering.

Bravo! You are correct. It drives me crazy as well. When we go, we meet up with a family from Orlando, and they have a wheelchair (a young child) and a scooter, and it amazes me how rude people are and just push by them.
I, too, can't stand rudeness in people. Your right, we are all there for the same reason, and let's try to respect that.

It never ceases to amaze me, the things I'll see at any given time at the world. Some of the posts on these boards are almost unbelievable!

Well Said :thumbsup2

I agree with you 100%

I am finding that more people these days are without manners :confused3

It is such a pleasant surprise when someone responds with a Thank You :) or holds the door for you :) , instead of letting it go

Having said that, I still love going to WDW regardless of who's there :cloud9:

I'm there to experience the magic and no-one is going to take that away from me or my family :goodvibes

hi Sympatico - no, that wasn't me. I did stay at WH but we weren't with other guests.

We had that at MK last year. Three families were travelling together. The dads were running to the front of the lines then moms and kids would catch up and cut the line. This happened to my dd at Toontown. We got there really early and at the front for rope drop. She was so excited because there was only this dad in line of front of us. Then he proceeded to let in the group of about ten kids he was with-the boys in their group complaining that they didn't even want to meet the princesses. Then, of course, the family proceeded to need to take several pictures of each kid with each princess. I thought that was pretty rude. We ended up waiting about 20-30 minutes extra because of this family. The dad was bragging to me that, since he was a Disney regular, he knew all the tricks.:sad2:

I have to say, the busier the parks are, the worse this behaviour seems to get. We were lucly to get 2 MK days where it wasn't busy and everyone was well behaved. But the third day at MK was a Monday and very busy and the parents (not kids) were all being pushy and jerky.

This one is a definate no-no in my books. We did something similar in that we sent our teenager to a specific ride as soon as we got in but that was only to get fastpasses at a decent time.

i let a couple in front ..they bought my faast passes for $5.00 they wanted on soarin before they had to get to the airport.and asked. it was coffee $$$i couldnt believe it..i thought it was a prank but it was for real..

Parades:

On our recent trip we seeked out our favorite spot to see the parade, arrived 45 minutes to an HOUR early only to have some twit bully their way to where we were and plunk their butt down right in front of us without even batting and eyelash. Ohhh it made me so ugly!

My other complaint is grown ups who stand in front of little kids (I'm talking toddlers & young children) during a parade. We had a GREAT CM at one of the parades, she told the adults to let the children sit up front. I thought that was GREAT!

On a personal note: after sitting at our favorite spot waiting for the parade I went to the washroom. On my way back to where DH and the kids were sitting there was a LARGE crowd of people. While making my way through I got pushed and loss my balance, a man said to me "this isn't the running of the bulls". I couldn't believe this guy!! He was one of those "bully to the front people" because he wasn't there when I left to go to the washroom. I was so furious!!!
