I had planned on using ME for our upcoming trip and now due to my DGD's 1st Communion we had to re-schedule a later flight . We will be landing in Orlando at 6:30 p.m. on a Sat. Staying at the POLY. We have an ADR at Ohana's for 8:40 and would love to catch Wishes from the beach at 10 that evening. Would we be cutting it close by using ME compared to hiring a Limo to take us? Just wondering how much time it might save us (and my nerves) by doing the Limo and if it would be worth the $120 + tip ? I had used both in past trips and don't really remember how long ME takes but remember Limo driver being right there waiting for us ...TIA :)

:)If it were me I wouldn't want to take the chance. It could work out with ME but then again....

FWIW, I would go with the limo.

Using DME you can plan on being at your resort 60-90 minutes from when you get off of the plane provided you use the luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags. If you plan to collect your own checked luggage at baggage claim add at least another 20 minutes to those times.

Using a limo or town car you can plan on being at your resort about 60-75 minutes after you get off of the plane if you include the time you'll need to spend at baggage claim collecting your checked luggage. If you have only carry-on bags you can shave at least 20 miinutes off of those times. If you plan on a grocery stop you'll obviously need to add that time.

Only you can decide of the time savings of 0-30 minutes is worth the cost of the town car or limo.

Here are some of my 'average' times, gate to resort...
DME....60-90 mins, usually around 75 mins (luggage gets to the room about 1-3 hrs after resort checkin)

Car service....carryon bag only......45 mins.

Car Service...checked bags......60 mins

Can you tag your bags and let DME take them for you and then you use a car service? Sure. There is an entire sticky thread that discusses just that, so I won't go into it here.

And you can use DME one way if you want to....so you could use a car service to the resort and take DME back to MCO if you wanted to. Save a little bit that way.

I may be able to make your ADR at 8:40. But, if your flight is delayed, you may very well miss the ADR. The one thing you have in your favor is that you are staying at the same resort the ADR is at.
