Well I've finally done it....booked our transportation. And I must say it was more difficult choosing a limo co. than it was making our ADR's. :teeth:

I had come to the conclusion that a lot of posts on this forum of the DIS board are from DIS members with financial interest in Orlando limo. companies.
I wonder if they realise how transparent there posts are...even to a Disney novice like me.

Anyway, I've done my best to sort thru the good and the bad and I ended up emailing 6 companies for a quote and in the end made a decission based on price, but not the cheapest one!

Just thought I'd let the limo. company posters know (they know who they are) that they are actually putting people off!!

Who did you end up booking? As I just mentioned in another post, while yes, there are some limo companies posting, not all of the posts about them are from them. I have made more than a few posts about how happy I've been with the service of Jimmy, formerly with Golden Limo, and now with Lorden Transportation. But if you look at my post count, that's hardly the only thing I've posted about over the years!

how do you know the limo companies are posting? do you go through all there old posts or something?

Yes, I have checked previous posts of what I consider suspicious posters.

I treat with suspicion posters giving a "political" type speech on limo. companies particulary their first post and posters that have few posts whose posts are nearly all regarding limo companies. I think some people try too hard to sound genuine.

I have also read comments from posters with 100's or 1000's of posts under their name challenging some of these "suspicious" posts and am not satisfied with the replies given by the original posters when challenged.

I have also found, coincidental as it may be, more grammar and spelling mistakes on posts regarding limo. companies than in other areas of the DIS forums. Make of that what you will!!!

I have not posted who I have booked with as I have not experienced their services yet and am therefore unable to either recommend or not recommend them at this stage.

When I return from my trip next month I will post an honest assesment of my experiences with that company then, if any one is interested.

If you reread your posts on this site, you will find at least three spelling mistakes and numerous grammatical errors. coincidence??? i think not.

I post about limo companies once in a while, mate, and I am not affiliated with any of them in any way, shape or form. I've never even used one - I always rent a car!

I was extremely vocal in the recent threads about the complaints that the limo and cab companies filed against DME representatives on Level 3 of the MCO terminal. I agreed with the limo companies that this presense was a violation of the law. That doesn't make me a plant.

I have also recommended a couple of companies over the years without actually using them, because I have met or spoken with their owners on numerous occasions and in several web communities like the DIS, and have been impressed with how they run their businesses. That doesn't make me a plant.

Once in a greet while, muy grammer and speellin ain't that gooder. Dat don't make me no plant, niether, hon. (Sorry, I slipped into my South Baltimore accent there for a moment.)

If you suspect that someone is a plant from a company, posting false information in an attempt to boost their own business or to sabotage someone elses business, you should report the individual to one of the moderators, including any specific posts you think support your claim. I believe that joining the DIS under multiple names is forbidden by the terms of membership, and doing so for fraudulent business purposes certainly is. Don't complain here on the open boards; all that does is make you look like a plant or a troll, and start fruitless arguements. Instead, report suspicious persons and posts to the proper authorities, who actually are in a position to take action, should action be warranted.

Thanks WillCAD,point taken.Don't wish to start any arguments....
I was just trying to make the point that of all the forums on the DIS board I find this one the least useful in my Disney planning due to what I have already stated in my previous posts.
I was not implying allposters in this forum are plants and do not expect that genuine posters need to defend themselves. Sorry if I have offended those.
Think I'll head back to the Theme park and Restaurant forums...more fun!! :wave2:

I have nothing to do with any limo company, in fact I personally either rent a car or take DME.

I do report suspicious posts to the webmaster and have had some of my replies deleted, with my permission. More than half the "votes" for a company are from new members with zero posts and people wonder why some of us suspect the owner of "stuffing the ballot box".

Picking a limo company is really not that hard. Companies like FL Tours (a board sponsor) and the company Ducklite suggests don't spam the boards and give good service with a competitive price. Insurance, airport fees and gas are expensive. Guests that look to squeeze the last dollar in comparing rates run the risk of picking a company that can't provide good service for the price quoted and may not even be in business to honor your reservation.

I have never taken a limo while in Orlando. We usually use Bob from Sunray. He drives an SUV, and although not a limo, we have been very happy with him. I have spoke with Jimmy and when we were going to use a limo, that is who we were going to use. He was professional and prompt with returning phonecalls. He seemed very personable and friendly. Per Anne, he was reliable and if the next time we are in Orlando and need a limo service, Jimmy is the person we would call. I can assure you that I have no financial interest in Jimmy, Bob or anyone else in Orlando. Best Wishes for a nice trip.

We're very happy with Happy Limo and I plan to book them again this summer. I first go to the airport website (we fly in/out of Sanford) to see which companies work out of it. Then I ask on the Boards. That way, no one is "soliciting" me first. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

When I tried to book a limo for July I ended up fed up with all of them. Only a few return my emails. Several would not take relay calls. In the end I ended up driving my own to to Orlando and did all my hotel transfers myself.
