Limited-Time Magic

Imagine an Independence Day celebration that lasts an entire week, or a Friday the 13th dance party with Disney Villains that lasts to the 13th hour. Or how about a True Love Week with romantic surprises wherever you go? Every week in 2013, the Disney Parks will offer something special, unexpected, and downright magical to Guests. You might encounter lesser-known Disney Characters who are happy to pose with you for a pic you'll always treasure, or perhaps chalk artists using the Parks as a canvas for their amazing creations. Every week will bring something new – and every experience will be fleeting, because the following week it just might be gone for good.

Although we've gotten some hints, the majority of the Limited-Time Magic experiences are still surprises. The experience of the week will be announced at LimitedTimeMagic.com, so keep an eye peeled.

Thanks for the reminder. :thumbsup2

There have been a number of threads about this since it was announced last month. :goodvibes

I'm planning a trip or two within 2013.

Does this info make me more or less excited about when I go?

Less, or at least neutral.

If I don't know in advance what the "Magic" is going to be, how can I plan my trip(s) to see it?

For all I know, the "Magic" that is coming during my trip will be a
"Photo Retrospective of South American Tour Groups at DTD."

Kewl! ;)

I have to agree, knowing a head of time might entice people to book a trip who might not have otherwise or get more visitors in a slower time of the year.

Yeah well I'm going anyways so for me it's just an extra dose of excitement waiting to see what my two weeks will be all about!

Besides that I don't need any sort of incentive to get me there!!!

Stoked!!!!!!

Yes! If Golden Horseshoe Revue were to come to WDW and I were given enough notice (at least 6 months), I'd be sure to get down there. I WILL spend my money to see that as I would love to share that childhood experience with DD. I'm bummed that right now it's only at DL, which is an 8+ hour plane flight for us. Can't quite afford that with less than a month's notice.

"Slower time of the year"? Didn't know there was such a thing anymore! :rotfl:

Ops sorry I have known about the limited time magic but not that is was going to be every week I just thought it was going to be sporadic................

Knowing that it is going to be every week makes me less excited, I feel like its going to be over done.............. Oh well still excited about our upcoming trip in Feb :cool1:

I too would like to know somewhat ahead of time. Our DD is in middle school so we try to limit the amount of school missed. We have been going in late fall during her break, but that is already a packed time of year with events-MNSSHP, F & W Fest (seminars/concerts) and just wanting to take regular tours add in EMH, fireworks and Dinner shows and you have one jam packed Vacation.

The "incentives" to lure guests are the very reason that they offer these yearly (or so) "promotions."
The marketing team tries to bring in more guests.

This 2013 promotion (and the one very, very ODD one in 2012) I think is way off-the-mark.
Thus, my luke-warm reaction to it.

I like the fact that we won't know what's happening before we go. We'll be there for 10 days over 2 weeks, so I guess we get 2 different things. We go the same time every year, so we just enjoy what's going on while we are there, we wouldn't plan according to what's happening. I like being surprised and look forward to it!

I'm there in 19 days and I'm DYING to hear what our special magic might be... Any ideas on how far in advance they release the info?

TIA

For the one week so far, it was about 3 days in advance.

I find it interesting that in the midst of micro-scheduling initiatives such as FP+ they are providing guests with weekly new and different spontaneous magical experiences. Seems a contradiction in strategy.

Being a huge planner of park itineraries myself I still do appreciate the opportunity for some extra unplanned magic - just would not love it to conflict with a headliner FP window.

At least it is a choice between fun and fun I guess :thumbsup2
