Limited DVC availability at Poly?

I'm not sure! The DVC Rental Store sponsors the DVC Fan podcast (which is a great listen), and many of the podcasters have said that the DVC Rental Store calendar is more up to date and user friendly than the actual DVC Member portal. It's been very easy for me to follow availability on there. Highly recommend it.

I doubt that. Disney would shut down anyone who was running a backdoor program that accessed its servers constantly for real-time data.

But secondly, I don't get the vibe that the DVC Rental Store is that kind of company. They might check availability more often than their competitors but I don't believe that they have some sort of super-secret software that gleans information that other members are not privy to.

Almost 100% positive that the availability shown on DVC Rental Store is just a "screen shot" of a particular point in time. It is NOT real-time. I do nor know how often it is updated.

Screen shots predict availability fairly well for several months out. They do not predict very well if one is looking for "last minute" availability. Probably best to look at the list of confirmed reservations in those situations

The DVC Rental Store website says this:

"Start by browsing DVC rental availability. This list reflects the availability status of all Disney Vacation Club resorts, and also gives you the ability to compare rental offerings by price. Please note: Availability with DVC can change very quickly. This list is updated several times per day and availability will be verified by our team once your request is received."

Yeah, the DVC Rental Store show AKV Value and Club Level rooms available when they are not:

Club Level in particular is booked for 11 solid months. Not a single night is available, even at 11 months.

What is it about club level rooms that is such a draw? I thought hte only benefit was some kind of lounge with free food and previously some priority fastpasses. Are there new benefits?

There are (I think) only 12 Studios and 12 one-bedrooms.

There’s definitely a group who believe club level at any hotel is the only way to go.

We tend to do the math. How much will it cost us vs. how much it additionally costs.

If you plan on some serious drinking during happy hour and don’t have access to cheap offset alcohol (I.e. no car), then club level easily pays for itself.

What do you mean "that kind of company?" Because they may have a program that may give them an industry advantage that's perfectly legal? Breaks no rules of DVC? And is something their competition doesn't readily have access to? That kind of company? Please explain.

As a DVC owner, I can query the database a hundred times a day if I want to. And do whatever I please with data gathered from the queries I make. All they need to do is own DVC points and have a login.

What they do is perfectly legitimate. And the information they provide as to availability, while not in realtime; is pretty darn close. And better than what anybody else has. Kudos to them.

The PP stated that the company claims that their availability calendar was more up to date than the member's website. To do that (and I don't think that they do) the company in question would have to be running some sort of software that has backdoor access to availability outside of the members' booking system, and it would be running in real time which would add to the load on the servers.

I don't care if a company queries the member's website multiple times a day, just like any member can do. I just call B.S. on the claim that their system is actually more accurate than the member website. And to be fair to the company in question, I doubt that they ever made the claim.
