To preserve the Guest experience and given the popularity of the Disney animated film Frozen, beginning April 29, all Frozen products will have a purchase limit of five (5) per item per Guest. Signage with same-item limit will be installed near Frozen products, wherever possible.

Wow I knew it was popular but not that popular. Maybe people are reselling it?

5 per item per guest is still really too high. It won't cut back on resales that much and still make it hard to get.
Ebay is flooded with the stuff

The official notice I received from the Disney store mentioned a 2 item limit on Frozen dolls and plushies. 5 must be the limit for everything else. And yes, some people would buy a hundred just to resell them on ebay and make money.

I read Disney Stores expect decent inventory by July/August. I have been trying to get my oldest daughter an Elsa dress for 6 months! As long as she has it by Oct when we go to WDW...

this whole frozen "craze" is actually pretty insane

Understatement of the year! There have been many, let's call them, "energetic discussions" between guests about who had their hand on what product first. And the limit for the Frozen merch was definitely necessary because there have been a few instances of a guest buying 15-20 Elsa/Anna dolls at one time. That is really unfair considering that on the rare days when we actually get Frozen merch in it's only a couple of cases at best and really limits the number of people who can purchase them.

Make sure you like Disney Store on facebook. When they announce new merchandise in stock, check for it. That's how I got my daughter's dress. Also all Disney Stores will only be displaying Frozen stuff on Saturday mornings and there will be lottery drawings for the dresses from what I was told.

I'm sure they're in the process of it. figure it takes at least a month or two to produce in China and then another month to boat it all over

Not to mention Chinese New Year closed many factories for up to a month.

We were there in April and I was disappointed in the lack of Frozen items. They had some books, dresses and the movie and that was it.

More and more products are showing up in stores. Every week Disney stores are getting a shipment that includes Frozen merchandise. We get Elsa dolls in locally every week. They just keep selling prior to the next shipment. I snagged some things at our local Disney store and online.

No one could have predicted the response. I think they need to make, literally, millions of Elsa dolls. That takes time. Typically several months from tooling up the factory to the toy hitting the shelves. I read that Disney is even airlifting some of the Frozen products to get them into stores sooner.

They expected tens of thousands of dolls to be purchased. As I said before, they are going to sell over a million, maybe even millions. Also, the appeal is worldwide so they need to ship toys to many countries, not just the US.

I just came back from our local Disney Store Outlet.

NO Frozen items at ALL. Our "outlet" is really exactly like a Disney Store, with the discounted items towards the back.

I thought I read something about "outlets" not getting the priority merchandise, but that may have only been the dresses. Our two get products in on Wednesday, but save the dolls and plushies for Saturday at opening. I assume they are gone in a few hours.
