so we booked a trip in september then changed it a little when they announced free dining. we are now going to be there for 11 days. our travel agent says that you can't get the free dining for more than 10 days and that disney doesn't do passes for more than 10 days. i don't think that this is correct.... does anyone know? :confused3

We'll she's right about not getting a ticket for more than 10 days but I'm sure not sure about the number of nights you can have the package. If it's true, you could book a 1 night room only for the last night.

Yup, the new limit (as of this year) is 14 days.

Ditto, 14 nights for us too. We are going to be upgrading to season passes with our 1 day base tickets. If you plan on going next year, you may want to look in to an Annual Pass.

You could have one down day in the middle of your stay since you only have a 10 day ticket. That way you could enjoy the pool visit Down Town Disney etc...

You can get the DDP for 14 days.

With the Uk offer I got 21 days free ddp with Virgin, while the disney site was offering a maximum of 20 days.

so let me ask this a different way and i'm sorry if this sounds stupid...

I have a trip booked for 9/2-9/15. I have a 10 day hopper + water and the free dining. Now is my free dining only for the 10 days or for the entire trip? I tried asking disney but I got an email back from them telling me to add the 3 day tix on to have even more fun (that would cost as much as the 10 day lol)

Dining is based on the number of nights you have booked, not the park tickets. We have 13 nights booked - which means 14 days of free dining (it is good until midnight of the day you check out). Only have the 10 day park hoppers, but are planning on attending the Pirate & Princess party on one of our off days. The other days we will spend at the waterparks, downtown disney and disneyquest (my son is 8 and would spend all day playing video games if he could!). We might even check-out Seaworld.

I think 10 days or 11 in our case is plenty of time in the parks - there is so much to do outside the parks. Our last trip was for 11 days and we never made it to the waterparks, so this time I am looking forward to some non-park days.

The dining is based on the number of nights you have booked. So if you have 13 nights booked you will have 13 credits not 14. At least that is how the packages are working for me.

I believe you have 13 nights booked so you would have 13 credits for dining. Disney's reply seemed to only pertain to tickets, not what you were asking. I agree with the other posters, price out just the 1 day base ticket that you are required to have with the package and when you get to Disney upgrade to an annual pass.

i would ONLY do this if you are SURE you'll be back and able to use the pass before it expires. otherwise this would be a terrible waste of money.

Yep. For us, it always seems to be that it isn't until the 3d trip on the AP's that you see any significant savings. For our upcoming trip, we have 10 day hoppers w/ WP&M. If we end up going again within a calendar year for another 10 days, we'd save somewhere around $150 if we were to get AP's instead of a second set of 10 day hoppers. Of course, if our next trip is free dining, or some other package, we'd have to purchase the one day base tickets for around $250 for the 4 of us. Granted, we don't have to use those tickets right away, but it more than wipes out the savings of the AP's, even when you take into consideration AP discounts on shopping, etc.

To the OP: For the past several years, the max stay was 10 days for any package, free DDP or not. This year, it's 14 days. The DDP is linked to the number of nights of your stay, not your ticket. Other than an AP, the longest ticket they offer is 10 days. Adding the water parks and more is a good way to stretch out your days, as are the "hard ticket" events like P&PP, MNSSHP and MVMCP. As I understand it, you can enter the MK at 4 pm with your party ticket, thus saving a day on your regular ticket. You can just spend the day at one of the minor parks, or your resort pool, or DTD.

Unless I am reading the ticket prices incorrectly a annual pass for an adult is $559. A 10 day pass is $294 and a 3 day pass is $287 so it seems to me the annual pass is less than buying 2 tickets to add up to 13 days.

Now if the extra 3 days of the trip will not be spent in any of the 4 parks then I can see were the annual pass is more.
