I didn`t use a hypothetical. I said that if the University has a specific rule, which they said it did, then downloading ANY music that you did not pay for is against the rules and could get in trouble.

Unless the label or band (not sure if this happens much, but it does with alot of indepedent label artists) have free downloads up that they've done so themselves....then I know quite a few artists that actually tell fans to download their albums on networking things (again indepedent/or unsigned bands).
