:music: I've really been considering using lime wire instead of itunes cuz it's only 20$ for forever. (I think?) So if you use lime wire or have heard about it could you tell me cuz i want to make sure lime wire is not a scam or anything. :confused3 Pleaz and thanx u's!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha! :thumbsup2

I use limewire and have for 3years now, I love it. The searches are great and they always have what I am looking for.

I have been using LimeWire for quite some time and I didn't pay a penny for it...

Other friends though, told me that their cpus got totally messed up with viruses? I've never had a problem with that... :confused3 :surfweb:

I've been considering limewire. I love iTunes, but it .99 cents a song gets expensive.

I've used limewire for free....for quite awhile now. I've never had any problems, and I usually always find what I want.

I've been using it for a few months.
I like it, and no viruses.
It helps to have some sort of anti-virus system i guess

i use it.
it's free.
it's faster than Shareaza.

i just use torrents like BitLord, you can download full cds at a much faster speed than Limewire.

Problem is it is illegal and violation of US copyright laws. I do not like piracy at all. You wouldn't try to get a CD from a record store for free, would you?

Umm, if I can get a CD at a store for free, I would do it in a heartbeat.

HAHAHA :rotfl2: :rotfl:

You're terrible Mike...funny...but just SO prodding!

You know what?
Music was originally there to share with you family, friends, and your community. It wasn't all about money. And you know what, sure a band is completely happy when someone buys their cd. And honestly, I bet most people who have that CD either go & rip it & put it on their MP3 or already have all those songs on their Ipod, downloaded from the internet. There is so much more than record sales alone that help the artist get money. Say you send your friend one song from that band, and they say 'Hey this is great'. They send it to another. And they do the same. Let's say they all live in the same area, the band comes and has a concert, there will be more people to attend it.
And besides, a lot of artists are just happy making music, because that's what they love to do.

Sharing with your friends in a limited fashon constitutes Fair Use by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and US Copyright Law. Therefore in the United States it is pretty much legal. However, sharing across the internet does not. I'm not saying I agree with it, because I don't. It's the same with software; proprietary software is something that I do not like but is there and we have to respect the licenses and copyrights.

Also, unfortunently it's not the artists who are benifiting from these copyright laws. It is the multi-billion dollar record companies. That is not right, but their lobbiests make it happen.

If you could get all of your music from peer-to-peer filesharing systems like this, would you buy the CDs? Would your friends?

Would you like to know something?
Even if I've downloaded masses of songs by one band, I would still go out and buy their album.
I do own a few albums, it's just most of the time I have more important things to spend my money on than albums.

I've been using LimeWire for awhile.
I think it's awesome.
I paid for it but, you don't have to.
Some people it's FULL of virius but, I haven't gotten one yet. :confused3

Then that's fine.

I'm just saying that the record companies are quite active with this issue. I do not agree that it should be illegal. But the record companies want $$$, and they're willing to nearly infiltrate the government to get that. It's horrible. If I had my way, it would be completly legal.

It's not just the record companies. The artists want money too. I actually side with them on the issue. I think they should get paid for their work.

They should, but actually every dime you spend on music goes to the record companies, who then distribute the artists money via contracts. Most of the greed, though, and the lobying to stop internet distribution comes from the record companies.

Well then if the record companies don't get paid, neither do the artists. :confused3
