Lime green mickey heads?

i had them on my baggallini and stroller last year, with my DIS name on it (just in case someone saw the stroller empty in stroller lot). i had it laminated and put the jelly bracelet looking thing to hook it on. i was so bummed to not see another DISer. Didn't see any in the hotel room windows either...

however, i did meet a lot of interesting people while standing in the peter pan line when it was breaking down every 45 minutes. i was even asked if people live in grass huts in hawaii :scared1:

:rotfl2: when i went to washington D.C. back in the early 90s, someone asked me the same thing. i told them "yes, i live in a grass hut on the beach, and i even had to sell my grass skirt and coconut shells to buy my ticket to go to D.C."...and they believed me! LOL!

You wouldn't believe how many dumb Alaska questions I've been asked. I lived there all my life, and moved to the states when I was 17. It got to the point to where I'd say, "I'm from AK. I live in an ice castle and it is dark all the time."

Ha!! We're sometimes asked if we live in igloos because we live in Canada. Sure do, eh!! :thumbsup2

We laminate the LGMH and then attach a carabiner clip to them and put it on backpacks, purses, whatever we're carrying. This waterproofs them (that darn Grizzly River Run :scared1:) and they won't fall off easily.

I grew up in Oklahoma and I have people ask me all the time if we had buffalo in our backyard and lived in a sod house like Little House On The Prairie. I also got asked once if my neighbors lived in teepees. Ugh.

I understand how you feel - I'm from KS and was asked if we had electricity? I thought the guy was joking - but he really thought in rural parts there was none available. :confused3 Like I could get my DIS fix on without electricity! :rotfl2:

The names of the colors are pretty neat too...
"Happily Ever After", "Prince Charming", and "Gamma Ray Green",
And black was called "Mouse Ears!"

Kinda clever, if you ask me :)

I guess I should pick up one of these... in all the times I have been, I've never seen someone with an LGM at the parks. But I bet now I'll look for them a little harder, haha!

So the color I am looking for is Alien Green yes?

I picked up a couple of LGMH's the other day. I never thought of putting them in the hotel window. That's a good idea! Who ever decided on the lime green color? It seems like red would be more appropriate for a Mickey head. :confused3

I live in Northern California and believe it or not someone from back east asked me once if I've ever dated any movie stars! :rotfl2:

cool....gonna go check them out soon. i wanna get some pink and purple ones to attach to my dd's backpack. i'll put the LGMHs on my backpack!

I think this is the cutest idea! I just joined, so don't know if I should sport a LGMH, since nobody "knows" me.

Thanks for the welcome! I think instead of playing the "find hidden Mickeys" game, I am going to play the "Find hidden LGMH" game..."

I read that it has to do with the layout color of the DIS boards, being in shades of green. However, the WDW boards are blue, aren't they? And I thought that the green Mickey Heads are used by WDW people too. So I don't quite get the origins, either. :confused3

I picked up several colors along with my LGMMHs, to use for a countdown calendar. One different color Mickey Head for each week till our vacation!

I particularly like the red color that is named "Mickey's Pants!" :rotfl:

I read somewhere here that it started with lime green shirts because they were easy to spot and then when they became more popular, they switched to the Mickeys.

Not all the Disney colors are on Mickey heads. I picked up Tinkerbell Green and it was just a reg. paint chip. I'd like to paint my bathroom that color if I ever find the time.

I didn't see any DIS Mickey heads last trip either.

Yes - you should! We have so many going in October - I really hope to see some of you - just to say hello and also to prove to my family that there are other Disboard addicted people out there! :rotfl:

I plan to get some of these! I'm so glad I read about them. For some reason, I missed this info last year.

I live in N Calif. Years ago, I went on vacation to Florida, and we had just gotten to the Orlando airport when the whole OJ Simpson white Bronco thing happened. Everywhere, people were watching it on TV monitors. An unbelievable number of people--at least 5-- assumed I knew OJ since I was from CA! That cracked me up.

I was just on the thread "when are going and where are you staying" and there are a ton of people going this fall that there should be a whole lot of lgmhs around ::yes::

Side note: someone needs to make a lgmh smiley on our choices over there -->

Hey, Jessica! I recongize your pic from BBC lol! I'm known as crazyfordlr over there.
