Went to Home Depot this weekend and got my lime green! I wanted to do something creative with them, so I spruced them up a bit. Just wanted to share them with everyone here. I figured if anyone is looking for ideas for personalizing their lime green Mickey heads, this may help. If you have any questions, just send me a PM. Below is the pic and a detailed description of how I put them together:

I am providing the details for those who are interested. I used the Sonic Boom Mickey head paint swatch from Home Depot for the background. The letters were purchased at Staples and the stickers are from Michaels. I'm not quite finished with these yet. I will be taking them back to Staples to have them laminated. The example on the left will be used as a pin for our backpack. I added our user ID in the middle of the Mickey head, the word DIS on one ear and the year we joined the boards (2003) on the other ear. Once laminated, I will be using a small hole punch to place 2 holes at the top of the card between the ears and will attach the tag to the backpack with a safety pin. The other 2 cards will be tied to our luggage. Both cards have a front and back and are each displayed here. For this example, I glued 2 cards together. On one side I added our user ID in the center of the Mickey head and the word DIS along with the year we joined on the right ear. I will be punching the hole in the left Mickey ear, so I left it blank. The back of the card has DIS Boards Member in the center and this time I added the year we joined to the opposite ear since the hole will be in the right ear on this side. Once the tag has been laminated and the hole has been punched, I will be using lime green ribbon to attach to the luggage. The stickers of the characters were originally placed on the card to hide some of the writing on the paint swatches, but ended up adding a nice touch. I am really proud of these and wanted to share them with everyone. Hopefully I was able to give you some ideas for your lime green. I also want people who will be at WDW in May to be on the look out for us! We will be there from May 11-17. Hope to see you there!

We will be there too!

We'll be looking out for you two!

Another way to display them is to make a button out of them. I purchased two plastic button kits (comes with a front and back with pen attached) for about $1 each. Then decorate the buttons and pin them where you want to wear them.

where did you get the button kits? I have been looking for some and don't know if I am just looking in wrong dept. or what???

Don't know if this has been mentioned before, but if you want to remove the Mickey head from the paint chip paper you can soak the chip in hot water. In a few minutes the paint chip will peel off the paper and be ready for you to glue or paste onto any other item you want. Peggie

They were back in the craft section where all of the small craft items are. Like sand, feathers and such.

How did you get the picture of your "Mickey Head" on your post??? I want to show mine, but can't figure it out?!?

Thank you!! I didn't realize ours were going to have the same stickers. I used a lamination sheet from Michaels, and self adhesive pin backs. We're going to wear them in the parks in hopes of encountering fellow dis'ers.
I hope you had a great time. We're looking forward to our trip in July!!

We had a wonderful trip, but unfortunately did not see any DISers. I hope you have better luck during your trip! It is getting close now!

The nice thing about these Mickey Heads is that they are so sturdy and weatherproof (once they have been laminated). We can take them back year after year and hopefully someone will eventually spot us!
