Limbaugh Said Pages Were "Teasing" Foley

I wander over to the dark side to listen to Rush Limbaugh every once in awhile, but I was shocked that he said this. He said that the 16 year old pages were not little innocent kids, they knew Foley was gay and were teasing him. That's why he sent those sleazy texts and I.M.'s.

Can you even imagine being a sixteen year old kid and having received this big honor of being a page in Washington, only to have some disgusting pedophile offering you rides in his BMW and trying to break into your dorm when he's drunk? Can you imagine sitting in homeroom and sneaking a peek at your text messages, hoping one is from that cute girl you are hoping to date, only to find it's from a dirty old perv asking you what you're wearing and if you're naked? Or maybe you're sitting at your computer with classmates doing a group project and a disgusting I.M. from Foley pops up on your computer.

I can't believe that the main Republican commentator is trying to make this out to be the fault of the victims.

OK here we go. First off, Rush is wrong about that. Even if the kids were baiting him, its no excuse. Rush is normally not a blantant "Republican" apologist, but more of a conservative one. He has attacked Rep before when they get off the conservative mesage. Which has really been the last 6 years.

But i also find it funny that its OK for Barney Frank to run a male prostitution ring (actually his boyfriend) out of his townhouse, but thats cool cause he's a dem. But this gay Rep gets lynched. I'm not saying that he probably shouldn't, just love the constant double standard.

It was scary to hear him say in one segment that there is not enough evidence to anybody knew anything ahead of time, and in the next segment say that the other side knew and didn't do anything.

Scary because his fans actually buy this crap and don't question total contradiction in HIS OWN arguments.

Did you see the tape of Foley crying when he addressed an out-going class of pages? He had a phone number to call if a page wanted a ride in his BMW? He is a sick, sick man. Those kids probably thought that being a page would look good on a college resume and now they're being accused of enticing the creep, Foley. That's too much.

And now there are the reports of the camping trips, but that wasn't even Foley.

Rush Limbaugh is the Tokyo Rose of the Bush administration. He puts out the spin that the Republican party wants. If that spin puts one of their own in his place, that's the plan. This spin about the pages is just reprehensible, though. It's not in good taste, it can't be supported by his listeners, can it? Well, I guess Charade agrees, but do others?

Well, I don't understand that logic, either. They tried to condemn Democrats or families of pages for shopping the story around to the press, but if Hastert wouldn't do anything about it, I think the press was a good alternative.

No, he wasn't. This is in 1989 too so our buddy is reaching back for his half truths and accusations here.
Barney admitted to having an affair with a male hooker that ran a prostitution ring out of his apartment while he was out of town. The House ethics committee found no evidence he knew about the ring or was involved in it. His reprimand was because he fixed parking tickets for the guy - not because of the prostitution.

Either way we're talking consenting adults here. Big difference between that and propositioning children
