I too have pre-ordered the beauty & beast As well as the Monsters Inc and been sorry, cause it has been cheaper, you know everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooooooooooooooo, Do we preorder it or wait???

They are giving $200 in coupons & $10 if you spend over $50 again...........soooooo

I preordered Lilo and Stitch today while I was at TDS. I normally don't preorder dvds or videos, because, as you mentioned, they can often be found cheaper elsewhere. BUT, we were at the store buying a halloween costume for my DS -- he wants to be Woody this year and the costumes were $10.00 off. We spent $35 for the costume and the hat (not cheap!) and were in a long. long line of people madly purchasing Beauty & the Beast. I thought of buying B&B, and had it in my hands when my DS said, "Mummy, don't get that. That's for "gurrrllls"." (Ahhh... the pitfalls of having boys... I don't get to sit and watch the Princess stories with them.) So, when we approached the register and were asked by the CM if we wanted to pre-order L&S, and get a $10 gift card for bringing our purchase over $50, I said, "Sure.", thinking to myself, it's for "boyyzzz".

It is arriving at the beginning of December and I can give it to one of the kids for Christmas. Since I technically bought it in October and not December, it doesn't eat into my "Christmas" budget or our December trip to Disney.

AND, I got $10 back with a gift card. Which makes the $35 I spent on the Woody costume a little easier to swallow. I've looked at the $200 in coupons -- very few that I would use. I'd be happy to send them along to someone who'd be interested.

Disney marketing is great. The only way the Videos and DVDs that you preorder end up being competitive with places like WalMart is by offering the $10 gift card. Of course, then you go back in to pick up the movie, have your $10 card in your hot little hand, and if you are like me, end up spending WAY more than that AGAIN!

I don't think I will be preordering any movies in the future. With Monsters Inc, we paid $5 more for it at TDS than we would have at Walmart, and then we bought a CD with the gift card that was $4 cheaper at Walmart, so for us, the $10 gift card was virtually WORTHLESS.

If I had younger kids, it might be a better deal since there would be more things that I would buy (and that go on sale) at TDS.

Wish I had your WalMart's. Our WalMart is only .04 cheaper than the Store here. 19.95 to 19.99.

Same at our Wal-mart. Sam's Club is the cheapest around here, being around a dollar cheaper. You can pre-order Disney movies at other retailers. Maybe someone else might have a promotion you like better than a $10 gift card.

I'll do the pre-order just for the lithographs. There have only been a few I haven't purchased at TDS and I did regret not buying the Toy Story ones there.

It's taken me several years but I was finally able to do something with all those lithographs. Here's some pictures if you'd like to see. Disney Lithographs & my Disney Room

I pre-ordered B&tB and L&S through the Disney catalog, separately.
At that time they were offering $15 gift cards for orders over $65, the lithos, I upgraded for the pins and plushes, got my 10% DC discount, free shipping, AND I don't get charged until the DVD's are shipped!
:bounce:
Now I have $30 to spend the first week of November.:)

We pre-ordered Monster's Inc. at Costco for around $19.95. We received 2 $10.50 movie vouchers good at any future Disney movie until 12/31/02. I thought that was a really good deal. They are essentially paying for a trip to the movies for me and the 5 yo...it would cost us around $14 during the day and we get the dvd for $6 plus tax.

Janette - LOve your Disney lithograph mosiac wall!!!

I also like to pre-order at Disney Store for the lithograpghs and hope to have a Disney room some day too! Right now I just have folders and folders of my lithographs in the "someday" Disney room! :)

I am really hesitate to pre-order any more videos because of the price of them at TDS. I just purchased Monsters Inc. at Meijers (a chain grocery store in the MI area) and got it for $8.95. I was so excited that I hadn't pre-ordered.

Fox&Hound if you wouldn't mind me asking, could you tell me what were the $200 worth of coupons that they gave you for pre-ordering Lilo and Stitch? Thanks

Michelle

I'm with you Janette. I only do the preorders for the liths. Lilo and Stitch will make 20 so far. I don't have the beautiful wall that you do, but I have put some of the liths with some of our disney pins and framed them and that takes up one huge wall. I'm working putting the other liths in our dining room. Oh, almost forgot about the extra Snow White liths. I ordered 3 copies of Snow White (back when you got a free movie for preordering) and made the extras into placemats for dd by putting clear contact paper over them. Ah, I love Disney!! :p

Michelle -- the coupons were as follows, with dates:

The only one that might possibly interest me is #6, though the thought of spending another $100 at Disney makes me cringe.

If you, or anyone else, is interested in the other coupons, let me know and I'll pop them in the mail.
