I have read some trip reports where people have been able to ride the Lilly Belle, was just curious as to how you go about being able to do that and where it is?? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.:goodvibes

The Lilly Belle is the parlor car attached to the back of the train of the DL railroad. It is generally reserved for VIPs and is not always attached to the trains.

It has been a couple of years since we rode it, but I simply asked the conductor if we could ride. If they have a CM available to ride with you, they might let you.

I have heard recently, however, that they are not running the car.

The car is decorated in victorian style and, while it has been rehabbed, is it the same as when Walt and his wife rode on it.

Just like dineyfaninaz said the Lilly Belle is not always on the track. But, I can add if the Ward Kimmbel is out so is the Lilly Belle. When you ask to ride in the Lilly Belle if a Conductor is not available sometimes they will give you a time to come back. I have now had the pleasure of riding in it several times. The Conductors are very knowlegable about her history. And I have noticed that each one has some different things to share about her. Truly worth the time to ride the Lilly Belle. Riding in the Tinder can be very educational as well. But, the Tinder only holds two. :tink:

I believe that the weather plays a role in wether the Lilly Belle will be out or not. But just like the PP's asked, just ask any of the Conductors at the Main Street station if it would be possible and they'll work with you to see if they've got the staff to get you on board. You'll have to make a full round-trip around the Park as the Main Street station is the only one they'll board the Lilly Belle at.

We rode it in September, I have lots of pics in my trip report linked in my signature. We were told to come back at a certain time later during the day. The only thing I was disappointed in, was the CM that rode with us sat all the way on the other end of the car and didn't speak to us at all...he actually dozed off (I have a pic of that in my report too!). It was really neat to ride though and so glad we did it! :goodvibes

We've ridden the Lily Belle. We just asked the conductors at the Main Street station if it's possible, they gave us a time to return and we did. We then rode the Lily Belle, the kids thought that was so cool. :) It was fun and the CM we rode with was very pleasant. Our ride was pretty full tho, there were others with us but the CM rode at the back with us and talked to us mostly.

...It is generally reserved for VIPs...
It's not reserved for VIPs so much as just not always on the track. As you did, anyone can ask to ride it and if they have the CMs available and can add the car, they will.

I have heard recently, however, that they are not running the car.
Just for general information for everyone, it was on the track Saturday. We missed a chance to ride it by about 30 minutes. drat!

Thank you all so much, I now hold out hope that I might actually get to ride this. That would be so amazing. Thank you again.:goodvibes
