I just wanted to post my experience with Lil' Rock childcare services at Hard Rock Hotel. I was under the impression before arriving at the HRH that childcare was available from 11am on. Lil' Rock opens at 4pm now. The worker at Lil' Rock told me that HRH cut their hours due to the lack of people staying at the HRH. My DH and I were disappointed - we wanted to drop the kids off for 1/2 day, so that we could go to IOA. My twins are under 40" so, they were pretty bored at IOA most of the day. But, we did drop off the kids at Lil' Rock for a few hours, so DH and I could go have a nice dinner at The Palm. We dropped off the girls at 4pm and picked them up at 7pm. They gave us a pager in case they needed to contact us. Total cost was $74 including 2 dinners. $9/hr per kid and $10 for each dinner. My girls were the only ones at the center, so they received a lot of attention. My girls had a really good time and have asked to go back the next time that we stay there. I haven't tried the childcare at Disney yet, but plan to on my next trip.

Too bad you didn't get to go to IOA alone. It sounds like you made the best of it though! Thanks for sharing.

How did you like the Palm?

The Palm was very good. DH had the ribeye and I had the lobster. The ribeye was fabulous. The lobster was good, but nothing spectacular. It was 3 lbs, but I didn't think it worth $60. We stayed at the Hard Rock and in the welcome package was a coupon for the Palm. It's $20 off dinner or $10 off lunch.

Oh No!! What horrid news! We were planning on leaving our 3 year old so the rest of us could ride several different afternoons in the week we are there! I had just talked to someone about 8 days ago and they said it would be ok. If the parks close at 6 and they don't open until 4, that sure doesn't give us much time to ride the adult rides with her 2 older brother and sister!!:(

DWmouser:

Maybe you could look into one of the sitter services like Fairy Godmothers. They come to you.

Yes I know about them, but I would hate for her to have to stay in a room all day and with the club there is so much to do and other kids to play with and that is what shes use to. Guess we'll just do the baby swaping thing! I sure hope they are still open for Halloween Horror Nights as we are leaving 2 then.

If you have a car, you could leave your daughter at the Kindercare Center at Downtown Disney. We were going to do that with my twins when we went to Epcot, but we decided to take them along. Downtown Disney is a 15 minute drive from HRH. I don't remember the exact rate, but it was about $45 for the whole day. They open quite early, around 7am. You have to call up first to make sure that they have space available.

DW mouser.....dont panic...yet! Wait and see when you get there. The Camp hours may very well change providing hotel occupancy is up for HHN. Give them a call:)

I think fairy godmothers will take your child outside, just not swimming. But the kindercare idea sounds like a lot more fun anyway!

Good luck!

Sorry, I haven't been able to post for 2 days. Usually I answer these right away.
We tried to use the Disney Kids Child Care last year and could not get her in until the 6th day! You can't make ressies because it's for their employees. You just have to call everyday and see if there's an opening.
We'll just take her with us and leave her for a couple of late afternoon hours I guess. Thanks!
