Hi all! I am looking to purchase a digital camcorder for my dh for his bday, and I am getting confused by all the options out there. I thought perhaps someone here could help me, since I have limited time (1 wk) to do research and talk to "those in the know").
A little about us and what we might be looking for:
I am not tech saavy ( I can turn my laptop on and off and edit my photos - that's about it!), dh is a better, but chooses not to read manuals, so anything terribly complicated or incredibly high tech will not be of much use to us.
We have an HD TV, and Dh LOVES everything HD (unless a tv program is in HD, he boycotts it shamelessly!!) So when I discovered they are now making HD camcorders, this perked up my ears!
The idea of an internal hard drive is intriguing, since we could then stop worrying about bringing along dvd r's, memory cards and the like. Our laptop travels everywhere with us, so "dumping to the laptop" is a tradition.
We have 3 kids, so 90% of our video use is either of the kids or for the kids! We are starting to travel for the first time since having kids, so something compact that we could bring along without too much hassle would be great.
If anyone out there can offer some advice or reccomendations, I'd really really appreciate it!
